...This is a very good hard drive, I've had absolutely no problems with it at all. The acutal amount of stroage you get with it is closer to 232GB as it is plug and play and requires no additional software, the sofware to run it already being pre-installed on the hard drive. The cables you get with it are long allowing it to be placed a fair distance away from the computer if needed. In all the time I have had the hard drive, which would be over 2 years now, I have not had to format it and even without defragmenting it since I bought it the data transfer rate has not noticeable suffered at all. It has never corrupted and even after dropping it a couple of times it still works perfectly....

Advantages: Portable Drive, take your music and files anywhere ! Disadvantages: Easy to knock
...FreecomClassicSL250GB USB2 External Computer Hard Drive.
The Freecom250GBClassicSL drive was a bargain when i bought it, even PC World were selling it cheap ! I paid £89.99 when the offer was on at PC World.
The drive has a massive 250GB capacity sat inside a USB case which simply plugs into the USB slot on your computer, because of this, you can take your music and files practically anywhere and can back up your system and keep it unplugged for times when you think you might have a virus ! this is much easier to do than to open up the box and unplug a second "internal" hard drive.
The drive has an average seek time of <9ms, a track to seek time of 0.8ms and an average latency of 4.2ms. These figures basically mean that this drive is no slouch !
The USB 2.0 connection means that it has a transfer rate of UP TO 480 Mbit per...

...with it (I haven't even taken it out of the packaging yet). I have a silver version which I think looks a lot better than the black one, and the metal surround gives a sturdy feel to the thing. This also makes me less concerned about transporting the drive form place to place.
To sum I would say that this should be the drive to go for if you are looking for a 250GB capacity....
