The Freecom Mobile Hard Drive is a plug in hard disk that just plugs into your computer via a USB cable and saves vast amounts of data directly. I run a photographic company and I download huge numbers of pictures every week onto the Freecom and it is really simple and easy to use. The drive comes with power supply, USB cable and the software it needs to interact with your computer. It has a download wizard that directs you simply ... ...not managed to get the Freecom to save incrementally. I ask it to but it always seems to do a full back up. To be fair though, I am not very good with computers and I may be doing something wrong, but I think that an item like this needs to be pretty foolproof as it is designed for the home rather than professional market. I just delete previous full back ups every now and then when I have added new ones.

I bought this external hard drive as a back up after having the misfortune of having my laptop hard drive suddenly dying without having any backups of my files.
There are a few external hard drives available on the market but I am pleased I bought this one. The design is stylish and the pictures don't really do the aluminium casing design justice. Transfer of files is easy with backup and synchronisation programs provided with the drive or you can use the standard 'drag and drop' approach if thats preferable. Overall a very good drive and for the price that you can buy one for, worth a look!

I bought this hard drive quite a while ago, when the lowest price was around £70.
I needed an extra bit of storage to go with my 250GB external drive and my laptop with just 60GB.
I thought this was a great idea, mainly because it didn't need an AC adapter to provide the power, it just needed a USB socket. You can buy an adapter, but unless you have a desktop computer, or your laptop eats the battery, you really don't need it.
I've never needed ... ...just a plug-and-play experience under Windows. All I needed to do was convert it from fat32 to NTFS.
I thought I was going to run into major problems when I changed my system to Linux, but, along with my other drive, it was easy to get it set up to read and write data.
Hard working, it is quite fast accessing, and very quiet, which is a bonus.
The only little problem I've had is when I switch on my laptop and it, very rarely, doesn't get recognised ...
