I bought this hard drive quite a while ago, when the lowest price was around £70.
I needed an extra bit of storage to go with my 250GB external drive and my laptop with just 60GB.
I thought this was a great idea, mainly because it didn't need an AC adapter to provide the power, it just needed a USB socket. You can buy an adapter, but unless you have a desktop computer, or your laptop eats the battery, you really don't need it.
I've never needed to use anything that came with it, it was really just a plug-and-play experience under Windows. All I needed to do was convert it from fat32 to NTFS. I thought I was going to run into major problems when I changed my system to Linux, but, along with my other drive, it was easy to get it set up to read and write data.
Hard working, it is quite fast accessing, and very quiet, which is a bonus.
The only little problem I've had is when I switch on my laptop and it, very rarely, doesn't get recognised unless I disconnect then reconnect it again.
The size is also very good, and the silver colour is great - mainly because it matches my laptop!
All in all, it is a great hard drive, very sturdy, and looks like it is going to last a long time too. And with prices coming down all the time, this will become increasingly worth it, as it already is.
