Review of Freecom ToughDrive Pro Hard drive 160 GB

Advantages: Tough price
Disadvantages: none

This was bought to replace my old freecom 40gb drive. Once when using it on a desktops front usb port, i knocked it with my knee and it snapped the connector. Due to this I thought I would go for a toughdrive and I have not been dissapointed. I use it weekly and keep it loose in my laptop bag with no real concern for its safety. No chance of the connector breaking here as its a sealed floppy rubbery affair! also there is a magnet on the clip so it wont become loose wherever you keep it. I have used it on several pc's, laptops and servers without any issue. I often use it for my work on a server that will only have one or two USB ports and neither are in a good postion so I have to leave the drive hanging from the USB port and still no issues. Never needed to use supplied software. ...

A high tech storage box

Advantages: Plenty space, looks good and very tough.
Disadvantages: None so far.

I love music, I love movies and as a model I have thousands of pictures all of which I store digitally on my PC well that at least is where I used to store them but I now choose to store them on my shiny new Freecom hard drive. My PC is a good one and it has a 250GB hard drive which I thought would always be plenty for me but I was soon proved wrong and had to get myself an external hard drive and after a few recommendations I settled on the Freecom 320GB tough drive. My modelling pictures are all taken by professionals and using professional cameras that deliver RAW images which are huge in size (aprox 6MB each) when you consider I have thousands of them, space disappears fast. Add to this the thousands of music I store digitally and the tons of movies and you quickly see why the external hard drive was needed. As this hard drive ...

The Captain Scarlet of removable drives

Advantages: Extremely durable, vast capacity, simple to use, reasonable price
Disadvantages: Not always plug & pay ; needs software installation on a few PC's

One thing about joining Ciao it encourages you to look objectively at the products you own or use regularly particularly if someone else may benefit. A product I like very much, use regularly and have had no problems with whatsoever is the Freecom ToughDrive Pro Hard drive 120 GB. This was given to me as a present by the man in my life (who in truth could be described as an IT geek) I have had several memory sticks in the past as I frequently carry projects to and from home, work, meetings and conferences and they have become a real part of my life and one that I couldn?t manage without ( sad but true) I?ve had problems in the past from loosing memory sticks ( not too bad if I can find them again !) because they are small or because the fiddly little clips break away (I used to keep them clipped to my car keys for safety (ha ...
