Freecom FHD-2 Pro 80GB Bus-Powered External Drive
Review of Freecom FHD 2 80 GB by  patwanet

Advantages: Lightweight, Slim, Auto-sync
Disadvantages: Shame there isn't a higher capacity

...This Freecom External Hard Drive is a 2.5" Hard Drive that has a USB interface and uses your computer's bus power to power itself. This means that an AC adapter is not required. With so few of these truly bus powered drives around, this is one of the best, followed closely by the Lacie bus powered drive. Thsi drive is ideal for laptop users who travel with a lot of data, or for those going on holiday with laptops who want to take their mp3's, movies and software with them. It is also great for transferring files to your laptop from another desktop computer. The drive is small enough to fit in a side pocket or to be held in yur hand without difficulty. The box comes with a good instruction manual, although really one is not needed. The drive is a plug and play device, and windows picks it up as any ordeinary drive. I recommend... Read review

Freecom Hard Drive Classic 250 GB
Review of Freecom Hard Drive Classic 250 GB by  Music_Maker

Advantages: Very Reliable, Fast Transfer Speed
Disadvantages: quite heavy for a external Hard drive (not too heavy)

...Ive owned this product for just over a year now, its been very reliable unlike other external hard drives ive had in the past. Freecom are a good brand of Back-Up Devices, 250 Gb has proved to be more than enough space for what i needed to back up. All of my music, Films, PICTURES, Work Files all fit onto it with still more than 120 Gb Spared. The Transfer speed is also very fast. I also do alot of travelling, so i need the External Hard drive to transfer my files from place to place. And the Freecom Hard Drive has proved to be very durable whilst travelling with it for quite some time. I would recomend this to any person who needs a backup/storage device as you wont find a better product for value for money.... Read review

Freecom...or Expensive con?
Review of Freecom Classic Hard drive 250 GB by  Cyber-Mark

Advantages: Small footprint, USB connectivity, good capacity, quiet
Disadvantages: All the above completely let down by the units reliability

...Please take a few seconds to rate this at the end - it helps me know if its meaningful or not and I can improve accordingly Ok... Its big...its black...it hums quietly in the corner. Oh..and its made by Freecom - a manufacturer I previously thought was pretty reliable (I have their dual layer portable DVD re-writer as well). This drive is billed as being rugged and portable - after all that is the whole point of external portable drives, isnt it? When I got the unit, it was twice as big in capacity as the HDD in my tower PC, so I immediately throught - backup. It didnt come with any back-up soft ware though, which I think is a glaring omission. No matter, I thought, I will back up my photos (10,000+), music (14,000 tracks), etc into folders I create myself. Connection simply means attaching the power cable to a free socket... Read review
