I bought some freederm after seeing an advert on the telly. The ad promised a new cream that banished redness and had a new way of fighting spots. It claims to be ' an anti-inflammatory treatment for mild to moderate acne that is especially suitable for tackling the redness and tenderness of inflamed spots.' The active ingreidient is Nicotinamide 4% and it is avaliable in pharmacies.

As I have mild acne (mostly on the chin) and have tried alot of over the counter creams with no luck, a new product apealed to me. I am 28 and having acne is abit boring now!

I went to boots and paid £8.69 for a 25g tube. It is expensive compared to simelar sized tubes of other acne creams but if it worked it would be worth it, i thought-especially after reading it was clinically proven to 'work'.

The cream goes on well and instructions suggest to cleanse the affected and surrounding skin thoroughly with soap and warm water. Gently dry and apply a thin film of Freederm to cover this area. It didn't irritate my sensitive skin. After about a week of using the cream , I thought I noticed a slight improvement but then the spots reappeared. The redness was still there also.

I kept using the cream and when I ran out after about a month or two, bought another tube. Why, I don't know, thinking it may work after longer use or the spots looked a little better for a few days. I used 3 tubes and noticed nil difference by the end of the period of using it. For the price, the cream does NOT do what it says- in my case anyway. In fact, it didn't do anything really except cost money. I wouldn't buy it again.
