I really wanted a spot treatment that would actually work instead of hyping up to massive claims and miserably failing! I was in Boots one day when I noticed this behind the pharmacist counter, going out that evening and having a few spots I decided to try it, I bought the Freederm gel in the 25g tube.
The product: The product is basically a spot treatment gel. It is an anti-inflammatory treatment for mild to moderate acne. Now, I don't have acne but when all else fails I thought I'd give it ago and some friends I know had also reccomended it to me just as there normal 'spot cream'
The range: Freederm has a smallish size range of products which just about covers the bare essentials. They have a face scrub, the freederm gel, face moisturiser a few other products and that just about covers it!
The price: Freederm costs around £7.50-£9 per 25 gram tube depending on where you buy it. I find this quite expensive for a spot treatment cream personally as I normally only spend between £3-£5 n spot treatment, but figuring that none of those worked for me so I decided to try one. You might be able to find cheaper if you look on Ebay and Amazon etc, but don't forget you still have to p&p which adds to your total.
Avaliability: These are avaliable in many places including Boots, Superdrug, Pharmacists , Supermarkets and many other places. I personally buy all things like this and my cosmetics from Boots as you get the Boots Advantage Card points and they seem to always have offers on what I would like to buy.
My experience: To apply it can be quite thick and gloopy as it is a gel, not a cream, however you are not left with any of the oilyness that you can have when you use a cream. After around 5 minutes it begins to turn 'hard' and goes white on the skin, so if you have forgot you have got it on and go out like that it can be quite embarrysing! This is one of the points that annoy me about it as you basically have to remove it to go out!
It takes around 10 minutes to reduce the redness on individual spots, so is very quick at working. I applied it at night and by the morning my spot was almost non existent so it it very quick at working like that, however in order to prevent spots I thought that I would apply it all over my face-not a good idea!
By doing this I ended up with more spots that I started with and this is what I find with most other spot treatements and because of this I would reccomend this for people with a few individual spots on there face but not for people that what to 'prevent' spots.
All in all a good spot treatment, that is very fast working, but doesn't prevent the spots!
