I first came across Freemans catalogue in 1988. I can recall a photograph of the Scottish pop singer Lulu on the front cover.

...high street. I’ve shopped with Freemans on and off now for about nine years. Although I only buy something once every few months, I’ve always found Freemans to be largely hassle-free. In writing this review, I’ve opted to give a summary overview of this means of shopping, with subsequent detail on aspects that I like and dislike. This is not intended to be a complete user guide to shopping, but I hope will provide the necessary detail to enable an ...

The shopping centre in your living room

Advantages: A veritable plethora of goods to choose from, and 14 days to decide whether you actually want them or not once they arrive
Disadvantages: Some items, e.g. electricals, are expensive

Freemans home shopping catalogue is a whopping 1100+ pages of quality, up-to-the-minute goods, all of which can be delivered to your door, free of charge, in as little as 48 hours. The catalogue itself is big and glossy. Photographs are clear (with particularly 'true' colours), items are well-labelled and descriptions tell you everything you need to know. Categories in Freemans include: Men's, women's and children's fashion and shoes Jewellery, ...
...all the big names plus Freemans own brand which is good quality and very inexpensive. There is a wide range too of jewellery/beauty products/accessories, but these do tend to be a bit on the dear side, especially the perfumes which can be bought 10-20% cheaper in Boots, and even cheaper elsewhere. Kids toys are also dearer than in places like Toys-R-Us. Ditto the electrical goods. There is an extensive stock but it is very expensive - I've seen ...

Oli home shopping

Advantages: Rapid delivery
Disadvantages: Too many charges, no teenager clothes.

Oli is a new company of Otto home shopping, and are a part of other catalogues such as Freemans and Grattan. However, unlike them, Oli don't do free delivery, and charge £3.95. They offer 3 months interest free, after this, the APR is 29.8%.. Items arrive next day, and clothes are packed in tissue paper, and in boxes, rather than the plastic bags usually used. Even before interest is added, some stuff are pricey. However it is good for toddler and children's clothes, as long as child is under 11. They dont seem to do older children's cloths. The catalogue can be requested on-line, or picked up in some larger Boots stores. They have a website that is basic but easy to navigate. ...

Review of Oli Home Shopping/Catalogue

Special Offers

Advantages: Specials
Disadvantages: Expensive

The Safeway at Freeman's Comman in Leicester is my local supermarket. It is a nice modern store with lots of car parking. As everyon knows Safeway is more expensive then Asda and to a lesser extent Tesco, but it allways has a good range of special offers which are often less then half the original price. I know for a lot of people low prices are what you want but buying the special offers saves you money and means you don't eat and drink the same things week after week. The ABC card allows you to use the scan and go facility where you scan in the barcodes and pay for the lot without the checkout girl doing it all. This can save a bit of time but is more a gimmick then anything ...

Review of Safeway (Shop)

choice catalogue

Advantages: interest free credit, quick delivery
Disadvantages: busy customer services line

i found a advertisement in a magazine to get a choice catalogue, so i decided to get one to see what it was like. I've now been an agent for about 3 years now. I have other catalogues as well as choice like freemans and look again. I think all the catalogues i have are expensive really. When you place your first order with choice they give you a introductory offer which is £15 to spend in your catalogue or 15% off your first order, which i thought was a good deal really. Your order usually comes withing 2 - 3 working days, especially if you ring up with your order. If you send your order by post it usually takes a while longer. The good thing about choice is that you do not have to pay for the catalogue like you do qwith next catalogue and also when you order things its interest free credit whereas a lot of catalogues aren't. Thye ...
