Advantages: Easy to use, frost free, energy efficient Disadvantages: None
...is relatively small.
The Hotpoint FZ150P is an A rated energy efficient freezer which means it is the best energy efficient rating possible and could mean you get substantial savings on your energy bill. This freezer is currently available in what is called Polar white or silver and retails for around £300 although you may need to shop around for cheaper prices.
I decided this time that I wanted a freezer not to dissimilar in size and shape to ... ...of the freezer. The Hotpoint FZ150P was Frost free and I bought it. It was also sold to me with two other conditions and they are:
A Super Fast Freezing which means within a few minutes your food will be frozen quicker to ensure the taste and texture is preserved rather than within a normal freezer it could take a few hours and it has been given a star rating of 4 for freezing which means it is considered to be one of the best freezers available, ...

Advantages: freezes quickly and consistantly, bright interior light, deep drawers, lots of space Disadvantages: no auto-defrost option
...in hand I bought the Bosch GUD 15A40 and boy oh boy is it GUD. Bloody expensive as well, I was relieved of £245 - £225 for the freezer and £20 for delivery.
The Bosch only just fitted my size criteria. Height wasn't a problem at 82cm and the width was ok at 60cm but the depth was really a tight squeeze. I had 57cm of room and the Bosch is 55cm deep.
We use our outside freezer to store meats after visiting farmers markets so it does go for long ... ...of litres of space the Bosch can hold 93 litres. The draws come out so we can take them into the house to fill and then take them back out to the garage rather than crouching down filling it from plastic bags. A really saver on back pain I can tell you.
Shocked by the price but pleased as punch with the performance. ...

Advantages: Good price for frost free Disadvantages: The drawers don't slide very well and feel flimsy
My reason for changing the freezer was simply that I hated to defrost the old one. After a very long search, this was the best priced frost-free freezer that I could find which was also made by a reputable manufacturer. I would have liked one slightly taller but the height of my old one seems to be obsolete these days. My only problem with this freezer is that the drawers, particularly the bottom one, slide open and closed very poorly, occasionally ...

Advantages: Ideal size for our kitchen but now need to find one of similar size. Disadvantages: Failed completely in 3 1/2 years, noisy, handle fell off.
...looked after it well. Hotpoint tell us there is nothing we can do. My advice to anyone out there is don't touch this appliance with a barge pole. I'm really annoyed because we paid a lot of money in good faith and expected it to last A LOT LONGER than this. Incidentally the handle came off in my hand some time ago and it used to make a lot of noise. We bought the fridge at the same time RLA50 and that keeps on freezing all our fruit and veg. I love ...

Advantages: good shape, clear large draws Disadvantages: none as yet
We didnt need a big freezer and as we live in a cottage and space is limited so this model suited us very well. Quite narrow and with large storage draws this freezer maximises space while alowing easy access. The extra cost of the frost free version is well worth it, pretty much trouble free in its running and with an A rating its quite cheap to run. The draws are clear so its easier to see the contents and strong (something suprisingly lacking ... ...a nice touch .
We picked the silver external finish but its also available in white which was slightly cheaper. The finish is quite strong and seems to stand a few knocks without any marks at all.
As to the performance, well in this day and age all freezers sem to work well with only the consumption rating being an issue and this rates 'A' . A long life? well that remains to be seen but my experience is it will still be running wehen im ready for ...
