Better than my last freezer.................
Advantages: Solidly Built & frost free Disadvantages: Drawers aren't very deep (front to back)
When we came back from holiday to find the contents of our old freezer were soggy, we weren't very impressed. We'd had the freezer less than 3 years, and really expected it to last at least another 3......but sadly it wasn't to be. It's quite a depressing job throwing nearly £150 worth of food in the bin, but it had to be done. We decided that buying another Proline wasn't a good idea.
Our 2 main criteria fo buying a new freezer were good capacity ... ...amazing how you come to rely on a freezer to feed the family!!). This one hits the mark on both counts - it's 8.5 cu ft (that's quite big if like me you can't picture it). And it's frost free, avoiding those problems of your freezer shrinking as time goes by and the ice builds up. Having had the freezer for a few months, I'm quite impressed with the build quality - our previous one had quite flimsy drawers that seemed to fall out to easily and were ...

Hotpoint FZA54
Advantages: not too bulky, excellent draws easy to install Disadvantages: none as yet
there were 2 then another one on the way... a tall freezer is an excellent idea once we discovered a little one on the way & less ability to get out & do the shopping, definate advantage if your short & have mobility problems, as no bendng over a chest freezer! The height of the freezer along with the easy of use with the draws ( not getting caught all the time as with previous items) as item is frost free! could never go without this feature again!

Good basic frost free freezer
Advantages: Good storage. Frost free. Energy saving Disadvantages: No interior light. Drawers not see through
I bought this freezer about 3 months ago as a replacement for a 20 year old Zanussi double door freezer. They don't seem to make double door freezers any more, so I bought this fairly tall freezer hoping I wouldn't lose too much storage space. At first I thought the all plastic drawers were a bit flimsy, but I am now quite happy with them and I like the fact that any spills are contained in the drawer rather than falling down all through the freezer ... ...the drawers are not see through and unless you are a very organised person you will be pulling open all the drawers to find what you are looking for. Also there is no inside light which could be irritating if the freezer is in a dark place. I would also have liked an external temperature indicator
I paid around £300 which I thought was a very good price for a frost free freezer of this size. Although it is "B" rated, it is using much less electricity ...

My very first freezer - and it's a good one
Advantages: Easy to set up, ideal size, good performance Disadvantages: Short cable
Earlier this year I moved into a new flat, which had other white goods but no freezer. At first I thought it was fine, I could use the ice box in the fridge for things like chips, veggie mince and the odd ice lolly - I've lived without a freezer before and thought I could do it again. Wrong. Having had a freezer for the last two and a half years, my shopping and cooking habits have changed. And the ice box was useless. So I decided to invest in a ... ...limited - there is nowhere in the kitchen, and although I have a small utility area, it has the washing machine in it and needs to be clear to access the bathroom. It occurred to me though that a small tabletop freezer could sit in the middle of this space without getting in the way. I made some measurements, and starting looking online for what I needed. As my parents happened to be visiting soon with their car, I decided that rather than mess about ...

Beko ZA630 Freezer - a good price for a good freeze
Advantages: Cheap, good storage Disadvantages: It does look cheap
Beko ZA630
All in all you get what you pay for with this freezer. For only £150 or so it is a good buy. The three storage departments are quite large and you can fit all of your essentials in the compartments. As yet (after 6 months) I have not found the need to defrost it. I am sure this will come in time.
The storage compartment draw doors are acutally quite robust and unlike other freezer compartment doors, they do actually stay in place ... ...actual freezer itself is quite light and I managed to pick it up and move it myself without too much bother.
This is a good little freezer and I would buy one again if it remained at this type of price - hopefully I can come back in a couple of years and report that it is still going strong! ...
