The Bosch KIV 38V00 is a smart-looking fridge-freezer, if not a bit on the pricey side. I thought I'd opt for quality when I decided to replace my old fridge-freezer and I think that that is what I've got.
Firstly, one big bonus is the deep freezer drawers. A real annoying feature of most freezers is having to cram food in. The Bosch drawers are deep and their facings are secure. Another great thing about the freezer is the no-frost system which ... ...drawers in and out really easily. It doesn't need defrosting very often but when it does there is an automatic defrost button so minimal effort needed.
Another handy feature, if you have an awkward kitchen set-up is the fact that you can change the way the doors open. Also good for left-handers.
All in all, a nice fridge-freezer if not a bit expensive. ...

About the ARC7593, which you were recommended as a replacement - we were given one as a replacement after a previous fridge-freezer collapsed, and it has been trouble ever since.
It hasn't worked properly since we got it in June (it is now October).
After much discussion with refrigeration engineers (not from Whirlpool) the problem seems to be in the electronic module that controls most functions, from the lightswitch to the defrost cycle. When ... ...which melts the plastic fan that is supposed to send cold air to the fridge. It makes a loud rattling noise.After 4 days, the fridge packs up. A temporary cure is to defrost very thoroughly - a day or more, so it isn't possible to keep food. We've been promised a replacement, for two months. If you're getting one, good luck to you! ...
