Had the Whirlpool ARC 5573 fridge freezer about 20 months. Been OK until I noticed the freezer was starting to frost up. Became so bad that door barely closed. Upon examination I noticed that the door seal had a long split along the top. Telephoned Whirlpool who offered me an engineering call-out. £90 plus VAT plus cost of parts. Checked out price of seal, another £90. So that's about £200 in total to change a door seal on a £280 appliance that was ... ...the way, Whirlpool offered me a monthly maintenance plan at about £25 a month which fom memory entitled me to a free call out with only the cost of parts payable by me. So if my maths are right that's £300 plus the £90 odd for the seal.
Are you getting my drift? I will NEVER buy a Whirlpool product again. ...

I purchased my beautiful cream Rangemaster SXS fridge freezer in October 2008. I could have bought a comparible model in a different make for far less money, but I wanted a Cream one (and it matched my range cooker)Was originally promised delivery for 21st-24th October - eventually it was delivered on 28th November. I looked beautiful. Gave filtered water and cubed or crushed ice. Really impressive for the Christmas visitors. Had a slight problem ... ...irrepairable. Numerous phone calls to Rangemaster almost "begging" for help. I had no fridge or freezer facilities. Despite these requests I was left withour a replacement until Friday 20th November. When a new machine arrived. Hooray. Fresh food at last!!! Thursday 26th November - in the morning found freezer had defrosted (all contents lost) - fridge not working. The machine was less than a week after delivery. Rang Rangemaster again. Engineer ...

I bought the Indesit frost free freezer after moving house, the price was very reasonable at £229.00. The capacity of the fridge freezer is good it's fine for a family of three and my sister also has one and does okay with a family of five. The applicance is very quiet and aesthetically pleasing. There are 3 glass shelves plus 2 salad boxes which are pretty deep. There are also 3 freezer boxes with a fast freeze plus ice cube trays built into them ... ...freezer was frost free and I've only had to defrost it myself once in three years which is good going, the fridge always worked very well and kept food nice and fresh, it was also very easy to keep clean.
The downside was rust appeared on the inner seals pretty quickly probably within the first year. The door also dents very easily. After three years unfortunately this applicance no longer works, the freezer has gone off completely destroying a ...

However within a week a pipe burst and flooded our new kitcken, the engineer was out quickly and fixed the leek but noted that it wasn't uncommon the areas with high water pressure. He also pointed out that the water filter was jammed and should be replaced. ...do not delay and call hotpoint now-mine did this 3-4 times in 12 months. (frost free is supposed to be frost free contary to what the engineer said )do not defrost before his visit as the engineer will do nothing- the design fault is that the heating element is not long enough which allows ice to build up and clog the air flow. the first engineer bent the filament further down but after taking a photo of the "damaged" filament a manager came and ...
