Disadvantages: Fridge has broken down after a year!

We called whirlpool and luckily we had an extended warranty but it took whirlpool a week from when we phoned to send out the engineer who then said the central board has stopped working. Which for a fridge that is just a year old is shocking! I have been without a fridge/freezer for over a week now, and the appointment date is for 3 weeks away. There are a few things that make this fridge great. Firstly it has two internal lights in the fridge half, one at the top (like a normal fridge) and one shining into the fruit and veg drawer.
