Advantages Great site, free to join, easy to use.
Disadvantages None
friendsreunited.co.uk is an online website which allows you to be reunited with friends that you may have lost touch with. This can include people you went to school, college, university with or people that you have worked with but since lost touch with.
The site is very simple and easy to use. It's well laid out, you simply visit the website and then you can create your account and add information about yourself by building a profile. This can include a picture if you want it too and you can add your school, uni, workplace etc and then begin your search for people that you may once have worked with.I used to use this site quite frequently to look up people I once went to secondary and primary school with, however, over time, I have found myself more and more drawn to Facebook as this way I can find somebody on there that I know for definite and then I can trawl through their friends list and see if there was anybody else that I knew and then just add them.
If somebody contacted you on friendsreunited.co.uk in the past you may have had to sign up to one of their subscriptions in order to be able to see the message that they sent to you and to swap e-mail addresses etc. I found this to be quite expensive and I did once join up at around £8.00 for a year just so I could read a couple of messages from an old teacher of mine (I did feel that it was worth it). However, the site has more of a facebook feel now. You can send people private messages for free and you can add a status (up to 140 characters) so this means that you can just log in from time to time and post a little snippet about yourself.
I do not use this site regularly now as everybody that I want to speak with is mainly on Facebook so I can just do everything there in one place. For this reason I am rating the site 3/5 as it, for me at least, has passed its day and I don't see what they can do to try and draw me back to the site.

Good assessment - I only joined it after it became free, only to find that few of my friends were on there because (while Friends Reunited were still charging for membership) Facebook had been invented and so everyone flocked to that instead.
