Kettles are like light bulbs? you know they are going to need replacing one day.
When I do set out to buy a new one, I do no research the market like I would a new television or PC, but I guess I do require one to be cheap (but not too cheap) and ?sort of? cool looking. I found this with the Frigidaire FCL-G362.
When I got divorced I did not leave the marital home with much ? I was glad to depart with my sanity intact, to be honest (I think I did anyway, keep my sanity). I won?t go into the whole divorce thing too deeply here, but I left with a few bits and bobs and these included the kettle. You could say I got custody of that old white Philips. It came with me to the flat I now reside in alone (save for when the kids come and stay at weekend). It made many a cup of coffee and boiled many a nip of water for a hot toddy. I can?t say ...

-- Background --
We have always had seperate fridges and freezers for the past 10 years. The last fridge we bought was a bit of a panic buy as we were in the middle of a heatwave and the fridge we had at the time blew up. I woke up early one morning, and the very first thing I do is put some water into my kettle and boil it for a refreshing cup of good old tea. But shock. It had lived its course, and refused to boil the water. After ten minutes of this I realised something was wrong. It had died after four years of loyal tea-making service. So that very day I went and bought myself a new one. Not being an expert on the subject I simply looked for the cheapest available, and at a tenner, this was the Frigidaire FCL1713 cordless kettle.
The packaging is quite basic, though it doesn't need to be much else. It has a picture of the kettle itself and the make of it. The main details are ...
