Hi my fellow writing cats... It's Shady here again! Thought I'd just pop back on the computer, while Mum (Karen-UK) is off drinking her cup of tea.
You may have read my opinion on Hill's Feline Science Plan. Well, since then, my Mum discovered it was only available in huge bags for £9.99 and apparently, that's equivalent to rather a lot of reads at Ciao, so we have changed to something else that is available at a magical food store called "Asda".
The other morning, I was minding my own business, fast asleep under something known as "the girls' bunk beds" and all snuggled up next to a soft toy, very cosy. Then the door slams and Mum yells "Shayyyy-deee!" in that ear-piercing way. Well, I nearly jumped out of my fur, but she followed it up with some intriguing shaking of boxes, so I decided it might be worth a peek after all.
Stretching to my full extent and moving silently, so as not to be hassled by that pesky dog, Katy, I sidled around the door and waved my fluffy tail majestically.
I then waited patiently by my cat bowl, as some interesting smells were wafting temptingly past my nostrils. But it looked a bit different. Where was my usual white bag? This was a yellow and purple box called Friskies Go-Cat Complete. It has a lovely photo of a rather attractive ginger tom on the front. Mmmm, not bad, not bad at all.
Now, where was I? Oh yes. So Mum mixed in some of this new stuff with half a bowl of my Hill's. She stood back and let me have a sniff. How I am supposed to eat with an audience! Honestly. These humans have strange ways sometimes. You should see what they do with my litter tray! Hmm.
Anyway, I had a few bites, thinking Mum would be appeased and it worked - phew! - so she went back to her computer, while I had a feast. I must admit, I was impressed. It may be what Mum reassuringly described to Dad as "cheap", but it's pretty yummy too. Mummy certainly seemed satisfied to see I had licked the bowl clean in a few minutes. Well, I know she hates washing up, she's always going on about it.
The flavour I had was rather bird-orientated, as it is Duck, Rabbit and Chicken, but there are other varieties too. It is apparently about 80p for a 375g box and around £1.70 for a large box. I’m sure it’s cheaper than that pesky dog’s Winalot anyway. Perhaps they’ll decide to get rid of the dog and devote all their time and attention to me. Hmmm.
The Go-Cat is small, bite-sized pieces which are great for my tiny little mouth and beautifully white teeth. They smell very pleasant and certainly taste very nice too. After a couple of days of mixing it in with my old food, Mum just gave me the Go-Cat and I was happy enough with that.
It is a complete, balanced food too, so as long as you leave your puss a bowl of water or cat milk, they will be fine. So all you cats out there - Moggie, Poppy and the gang – let your Mums know about this and give it a whirl! Don’t forget to check out the tom on the front!
According to what Mum read on the box, this food will make my teeth strong, keep my eyes working well, ensure my fur is shiny, my bones are strong, and my bottom end works okay too! So watch out, all you mice out there – and dogs, pah!
You can also buy special versions of this food for kittens (under-ones) and senior cats (over-eights), so everyone is catered for - literally. Anyway, Katy has just snuggled up in my bed and there is still some Go-Cat left in my bowl, so I'd better go. I've got a dog to chase. Miiiaowwwww!

Brilliantly written opinion and a joy to read. My cat Spike can't type but he still tries to sit on the keyboard. I reckon he's trying to worry the mouse.

Beautifully written op, Shady ;o) My boys like these but they have a tendency to make them sick for some reason whereas other dried foods don't - must be something strange in the ingredients? Anyway - enjoy!!
