First printing of this book was in 1973. I remember rushing out to buy it as this item was 'hot' then, and just as good a read today! 'Daring Diana' otherwise known as Doreen Irvine, lived a rather sordid, and reckless life, selling her body for sex, stripping, and becoming entangled in witchcraft. Diana was born in the East End of London: the family was poor; and her father was usually drunk and with it, aggressive. Nevertheless, she loved her dad very dearly, yet no-one seemed to show true love to her. Her first encounter with God was at a Sunday School mission located on the corner of Waterloo road, and it was there that in her heart she realised her own sin, but did nothing about giving her life to Jesus. Life did not get easier for Doreen. Her mother had found out that her husband had been adulterous and not being able to take anymore, left a note for Doreen to look after the kids for her. At eleven years old the responsibilities on her shoulders were very heavy. Trying to run away from home at thirteen was unsuccessful and she was promptly found and returned to her father and his new wife. Life was rough and fraught with arguments, with Doreen having relationship problems with her dad's new wife. Finally, the Captain of the CAWG Messengers, a group she had been attending for sometime, secured her a job as a domestic servant in Cowley, as soon as she left school. As time went on, she eventually became involved in strip clubs, drugs and prostitution, in Soho. It was a sleazy and dark life to lead, and it was here that she soon became involved in Satanism and finally became the 'Queen of Black Witches.' Her life was spiralling down at a very fast rate, when she encountered many people carrying bibles, going to a meeting in Bristol. With every intention of causing a stir, she entered the meeting place, but God had other ideas, and that night her life changed. Not without an uphill struggle there were many things in her life that needed straightening out. Witchcraft and prostitution had left some very negative issues in her life, but with a lot of Christian help and prayer she pursued her Christian life with gusto and spread the Good News of the gospel. She had turned her back on a life that was ruining her and sharing what God had done for her. Jesus had set her free! This book is gripping and will give the reader such insight into how a life can be transformed through Jesus Christ.
Advantages: Great true story showing there is always a way back. Disadvantages: None

What is great about this true story is that it does not end there, but carries on to tell us of how she accepted ...

Quick review of From Witchcraft to Christ
Wow wow wow. Praise God for this incredible testimony. though the book i read was old and falling apart, i couldn't put it down. so much in this powerful testimony confirmed in my spirit what the Lord had spoken to my heart over years of serving HIM. i couldn't believe i was only exposed to this stunning book now and highly recommend it to every person i know. Doreen gave enough information without ever giving glory to anybody but Jesus Christ. Definately a favourite and I praise God for it!! ...

From poverty, drugs to prostitution to a life of joy and freedom, this story charts one woman's entanglement with the occult and her eventual dramatic release. Doreen's experience may be extreme, yet it still offers hope, especially to those who believe they are too far gone to be forgiven.
