This text argues that money has brought the world to a condition of unprecedented instability. In the book, the author examines money from a psychological perspective - how men and women feel about money, about its acquisition, possession, loss and absence. Ranging across literature, finance, painting, business and philosophy, he shows how money has colonized the world in both its forms, as coin, banknote or electronic book entry, as well as an idea of happiness in the minds of men and women.

It is election day in Haven. All the candidates are only allowed one twenty four hour period to Make their appeal to the voters. This is to prevent the usual trouble from getting out of hand. Bribery, Intimidation and outright violence is common. Riot is not unknown. Strangely using magic is enough to get you disqualified. That is if anybody is insane enough to report it. The council is controlled by the Conservatives, but the Reform may just win enough seats to win...

..."A Year in Provence" and its sequel ""Toujours Provence" were for the ninties what James Herriot's classic farmyard antics were for the eighties: deliciously funny, escapist writing that tugged upon the nation's collective desire to escape the hum-drum of daily life. Its wittiness extends from its ability to make the normal seem absurd and the absurd seem normal. When you find a book which has a couple of tea stains on the front, and a spine which has more creases in it than your average Provence valley has vineyards, you know that your on to a winner....
