Reviews of Frozen Meat & Fish »
Resisting the obvious puns is really hard...
Advantages: Fast and cheap loveliness Disadvantages: Not exactly the healthiest tea around
...would?
Lord knows why Mr Brain woke up one morning and decided to create his own special faggots – he could have had any meat based dish named after him but instead he chose to subliminally put many hundreds of children off their tea. In fact, there are no brains contained within so you can rest easy knowing that instead your offspring are feasting on the luxury that is pork liver and pork (11%) and other delights including lard, onion and rusk. ... ...and breadcrumbs thrown in to reduce the taste of pure lard. *** Apparently Mr Brain holds 90% of the faggot market which is very nice for him.
Thanks for reading.
Review will most definitely appear elsewhere.

Gone fishing!
Advantages: very generous portions, fairly light batter Disadvantages: quite high in fat, might be too crunchy if overcooked
I have always been very partial to fish, but over the years I've sampled some good battered ones, some great ones and some awful ones (interestingly and scarily, the two immediate examples of "awful" that spring to mind were occasions when I had gone out for dinner!) and we eat about equal amounts of fresh and frozen fillets in our house but I think these battered ones from Young's are probably one of my favourites. The first thing about these that ... ...in a similar sized cardboard box to the Birds Eye Simply Fish brand, but Young's are far more generous with their fillets. They may not be as chunky overall as Simply Fish portions but they are a bit longer, probably getting on toward 15-16cm in length and are fairly wide (maybe 7cm or thereabouts) so I think they look like a more substantial meal when you get them onto a plate and serve them. I think the box itself would be fairly easy to recognise ...

Not quite a fishy feast : Morrisons Cod Portions In Parsley Sauce
Advantages: High in protein and low in calories Disadvantages: Sloppy sauce which is far too copious, didn't smell or taste nice at all
...the other day to give Morrisons Cod In Parsley Sauce a try.
The product is to be found in the frozen food section and comes in a dullish blue coloured box, which bears an image of a serving of the fish in parsley sauce on the front. The rear of the box shows nutritional information, ingredients, cooking & storage instructions, dietary/allergy advice, Morrisons’ contact details and advice that the packaging is partly recyclable.
Inside the box, ... ...anybody should happen to enjoy Morrisons Cod In Parsley Sauce, then the whole pack really isn’t enough to serve even the most modest of adult appetites and I’d thus suggest buying a whole pack for every person you are intending to feed. Secondly and on the other side of the coin, if (like me) anyone happens not to like this product, then one packet is probably far too much for two people.
The ratio of fish and sauce to me is far out of balance. ...

Used to be nice : Now not so! (Dalepak Chinese Style Ribsteaks)
Advantages: They taste quite nice Disadvantages: Bits of bone present, cloying, glutinous, extremely high fat content
...may remain
Dalepak Chinese Style Ribsteaks are to be found in the frozen food section of most supermarkets. They come in a flattish box, which bears images of a Chinese-style meal on the front incorporating the ribs, and the Dalepak standard logo. The rear of the box shows nutritional information, ingredients, dietary/allergy advice, storage/freezing instructions, cooking instructions, and Dalepak's quality ... ...have been eating and enjoying Dalepak Chinese Style Ribs for quite a few years, but it's my feeling that in recent times the quality of the meat has deterioriated. Whereas the ribs used to emerge from the oven quite dry and leaking only minimal fat, they now seem to be fat-laden and the taste of the coating isn't as piquant as it used to be. It seems to me that fattier pork is now used, and even when draining all excess fat off when the product is ...

ICELAND SOUTHERN FRIED CHICKEN PORTIONS
My son loves KFC and I purchased these chicken portions to be able to give him a KFC type meal at home as we don't have a KFC outlet near to our home. I found the pack of chicken in the chilled food section of Tesco's ( and it is available for online shopping), the cost of the pack was £5 for 1.3 kg. Looking at it in the packaging the chicken looked very appetising. It was packed in a plastic tray and ... ...sleeve stated that the package contained a selection of chicken drumsticks and thighs in a crispy American style batter and spicy coating - there was also picture of am American flag on the packaging to confirm this fact!! The nutritional values were on the front of the package also, and at first I was put off by the fact that there was 675 calories per portion. However I decided that this would only be used rarely and that it was probably better ...
