A delicious alternative to sausage rolls
Advantages: Very tasty, great hot or cold, better than sausage rolls Disadvantages: High in fat & calories
...on flavour. I noticed Morrisons Cheese & Onion Rolls in their freezer department, and decided to give them a go, to see if they were something I can use as a replacement for sausage rolls to serve as a snack with a drink when various friends drop in over the Christmas period.
Morrisons Cheese & Onion Rolls come in a mostly maroon-coloured plastic bag which shows a brief product description on the front, together with an image of a plate piled high ... ...this wasn’t the case with Morrisons Cheese & Onion Rolls – the onion was perfectly softened and blended wonderfully with the cheesy paste.
I ate a few while they were still hot, then later on sampled a few more once they had totally cooled.
I was delighted to discover that they taste even better cold than hot, which was great because it meant that in order to enjoy them at their best, I didn’t have to keep re-heating them. Once cold, the flavour ...

We All need a Winter Warmer
Advantages: Cheap!! Disadvantages: Read on!!
Now I thought I would try my hand at some thing a little different to what I would normally review. I’m not much of a cook, that’s more Stephs department, but because we both work full time, and work horrid hours I do try to do my bit.
Whilst out shopping the other day, on one of our rare days off together, we decided to pop into Sainsbury’s, just to pick up a few bits, as you do, and Steph turned to me and said “We haven’t got anything out the ... ...the usual of what do you fancy, and neither of us could decide, so it was just a case of walking round till we found something that we would both fancy, but at the same time we didn’t want to over spend, as pay day isn’t till the end of the month and Sainsbury’s can be a little pricey, although there stuff does taste good!! (well most of the time!)
Now I can tell you are reading this and thinking”what the hell is he going on about?” well now we ...

Advantages: quick, cheap, delicious Disadvantages: -
Wow, they're lovely arent they.
If I had to eat only 5 things for the rest of my life, an Admiral's Fish Pie would be one of them.
I have one every week, and have done for about 10 years now.
Every time I eat one I think "ooh, thats really nice" and it makes me feel warm and cosy inside.
They're only 88p at the mo in my local supermarket - bargain!
And now you can microwave it all in one go, rather than have a minute's waiting time in the middle. ... ...can never plan that far ahead. And he also forgets about them in there when he's drunk so they burn to small crisp cinders which are as light as a cotton puff.
And a waist-trimming 362 calories as well - well done Youngs!
Shame the Mariners and Ocean pies taste foul mind.
My cat's licking out the remnants in the tray now as I write! If its good enough for fluffy Bobble-Pops, its good enough for me! ...

Fish For One? Yumm Yumm
Advantages: Quick and easy to cook Disadvantages: Too much sweet corn
I was on my own for tea, due mainly to the busy lives my family seem to enjoy. To be honest, normally dinner for just myself would consist of something totally unhealthy, followed by copious amounts of chocolate biscuits.
Last night though I decided to venture into the freezer and search for something more wholesome and nutritious. I came across "Young's Mariner's Pie and it did look decidedly delicious.
THE PACKAGING
A bright mustard coloured ... ...pie, displayed against the backdrop of the sea. The pie is contained within the box in a nice dish covered in film. the information about the product is displayed well, with easy to read nuritional guidlines and cooking instructions.
THE TASTE TEST
I cooked this from frozen, but can also be cooked in a conventional oven.
On removing the film lid, the product had a subtle and not overpowering aroma. Microwaving took only 11.5 minutes in total to ...
