The Spice Is Right
Advantages: Very Modest Price, Fantastic Taste & Ingredient Quality Disadvantages: Poor Nutritional Value, High Fat & Salt Content
...I decided to try the Iceland frozen brand "Indian Takeaway Beef Madras", £1.50 for a very reasonable 375g portion, accompanied by Pilau Rice from the same takeaway style product range of which there is also an accompanying review to follow. Let one thing be made clear here, these are not the cheaper alternative that seem to be appearing everywhere wherby for around £1 you recieve a plastic tray with two compartments, one containing curry and one ... ...As with many other Iceland products these days, a front of box emphasis is placed on the healthy "benefits" of the product listed as NO hydrogenated fats, NO artificial colours or flavours and NO GM ingredients. To see this sort of statement on the front of the box is very important to some people in this day and age and also gives substance to the intended premium nature of the product. Maybe one downside that I do find with this range is the "Micro ...

A definite favourite!
Advantages: Delicious, quick, smells great. Disadvantages: Quite costly
...have sampled many of the weightwatchers ready meals, some pleasing me more than others, the most recent one that I tried was the Beef Lasagne. As I am quite a fan of lasagne, I was quite excited to try this, but also slightly scared, what if it put me off Lasagne forever?!
My mum was going out on a night out, and I knew I couldnt be bothered to cook myself a meal from scratch the particular night, so down I trailed to tesco in search of something ... ...not a dieter, however the weightwatchers ready meals are infact designed for the people following the weight watchers diet. Studying the packaging closer, I am told that this ready meal counts towards 5 weight watchers points- not bad for a meal. If you arent on the diet but were interested in the calories content, this meal contains a rather low 259 calories, and only 8.3g of fat, of which 4.2 saturates. The description which is given to this product, ...

Wrap up, its 'chilly'!
Advantages: interesting texture, taste, cheap Disadvantages: unhealthy, after-experience
...Would I Recommend?
Findus generally manufacture some fantastic products, and I normally do not have any issues with recommending them. I was a bit rocky about suggesting you try the chicken fajita option, and my opinion is quite similar with this Beef Chilli Fajita. The best thing to do is to weigh out the points. There are exceptionally cheap, at just £1 for two, so there's no price moan from me! They are also really quick and easy to prepare!
... ...will not be buying the Findus Chilli Beef Fajita, as my sickening feeling has put me off them for a while now. Such a shame; it was so delightful to begin with!

For those who can't cook or hate cooking roast beef
Advantages: Quick, easy, saves messing about, tasty, lean, good gravy, economical Disadvantages: None unless you don't like gravy
...supermarkets and smaller grocers' shops, Birds Eye Frozen Roast Beef comes in a rather neat little shallow cardboard box. The colouring on the pack is largely different shades of brown and on the front is an image of a white china plate containing slices of roast beef with potatoes & vegetables. The rear of the box shows nutritional information, cooking instructions (including microwave), allergy advice, a serving recommendation and the manufacturer's ... ...can't remember a time when Birds Eye Roast Beef wasn't in existence, though I consider it possible that it may have made its first appearance at some point during the 1960s, as that was when frozen food really took off - before then, hardly anybody had freezers at home.
I buy this frozen roast beef quite often, because I live alone and buying a fresh joint of beef is uneconomical, plus I'm not very good at cooking roast meat from scratch. It is ...

Salt hotpot anyone???
Advantages: quite filling (I think... did make me feel rather sick tho!), really low in fat Disadvantages: very salty taste, leaves you thirsty, looks horrible, need I go on....??
Recently I have decided to get back on the Weight Watchers wagon and try to lose a few pounds ready for my holiday in the summer and the dreaded bikinis that go with it! I asked Ciao to add this product last week, but unfortunately didn't have time to write my review straight away and someone beat me to it... ah well, I'll learn my lesson!! Anyway, the reason behind me asking Ciao to add this product was so that I can review it, so here you are...
... ...from scratch so find myself buying a few frozen ready meals every week in my local Tescos to keep in just in case. Having decided to try to lose a little weight, I was looking for something that would be cooked quickly and fill me up, so as to stop all the snacking that I usually do (my big downfall as I do eat relatively healthy otherwise, although you can still snack in moderation on the Weight Watchers plan). The Weight Watchers Beef Hotpot sounded ...
