It’s actually nowhere near as bad as it sounds. For a start, doing this endears you to virtually anybody who gets within sniffing distance of your cranium during the day, and secondly, Geez, can this stuff ever hold? I mean, seriously. You could go free-fall parachute jumping with this stuff in your hair and touch the ground looking like you just walked away from the mirror. Slightly shakier and with different coloured underwear than when you started out, but not a follicle out of place.
O.K, so it holds like an electromagnet and it smells like an explosion in a confectioners. What else does it do? Well, frankly, that’s a lot more than I’ve ever got out of any other hair care product I’ve ever tried. Anything else is periferal. And, indeed, that’s exactly what the makers of Fudge have been banking on. It does exactly what you’ve wanted each of the 48 tubs of wax and gel on your bedside table to achieve but never have, plus it smells so good that people want to eat your head. Not only that, but it comes in a groovy orange tub.
It’s a little pricey (at the “HOW MUCH???” end of the sub-£10 bracket) and is not too fond of water (both pre- or post-application), but really, it truly is worth it. This stuff means that you can actually flick through the pictures in a hair magazine and realistically say, “Yeah, I could do that”. And that’s not usually possible without rubbing a balloon on your head.
And it smells a whole lot better…
I just thought I'd add a little extra here. There are several different types of fudge, with different strength ratings. The one I've been using has a strength rating of 3 (Hair Shaper). I tried the strength 2 stuff but it really doesn't cut it quite the same, and lacks that wonderful bubblegummy texture when you scoop the glop onto your fingers that strength 3 has. Strength 2 might be OK for some styles, but if your hair is as resilient and straight as mine, then you might want to try the sticky stuff. Just make sure you have a wet cloth or a sink close by, because your hand is gonna be looking like somebody sneezed on it immediately after Fudge application!
Advantages: Everything... and smells lke fudge Disadvantages: Expensive (but worth it), hard to find and smells like Fudge?
...you pay for and although Fudge is expensive, it's well worth your money. My new cut is long, streaky blonde and it looks really great except for one thing, managability. My hairdresser told me I'd need to get used to heat styling to keep it sleek and dry so the colour would actually be the same as when I left the salon but being a bloke, this became quite difficult and I ended up returning to styling tools to help me achieve that desired look. (Incidently, ... ...I remembered the very favourable Fudge Op's I'd been reading on Ciao a month or so ago, and I thought I'd give it a shot. What I really wanted was a mini sample tub because this stuff is expensive ranging between £7 and £10 for most products, and I eventually managed to find some at a website called Hairtec.com (I wouldn't bother trying to find this stuff on the high street by the way, I haven't even come across any salons that sell it). The small ...

Advantages: Natural hold, Very easy to wash out, smells lovely Disadvantages: Can be difficult to buy (though more shops seem to be stocking it these days), quite pricey
...natural looking hold - give fudge a go.
Fudge offers a range of products, the most popular and original being Hair Shaper. This comes in tubs sized either 30ml or 100ml. The larger tub will set you back about £8.95 making this one of the more pricey styling products on the market. However, don't let the price put you off - this is a fantastic product.
The product has an off-white colour and a slightly sticky smooth texture. A little bit can go ... ...hair! As the product is water-soluble (which makes it a dream to wash out) it isn't keen on damp hair, rain or humidity. To apply it you need to work a small amount into the palm of your hand then rub your hands over your hair and style as required. This product is great for after the 'just out of bed' look as well as a smart 'go to work' style. However, after application it does leave a sticky trace on your hands that can be annoying if you're in ...

Advantages: Smells great, holds hair all day, leaves hair looking healthy. Disadvantages: Hair has to be completely dry before use.
...hair products......my hair dresser suggested Fudge for hair I was a little sceptical at first, but the thing that instantly caught my attention was the smell......as soon as you open the tub you get a waft of fudge, mixed with a light perfume, the smell alone was enough for me.....
Fudge is very easy to use and will also last throughout the day, without leaving your hair hair or unnatural looking. The Fudge has to be used on completly dry hair, ... ...hair as desired. After about half an hour, the Fudge hardens slightly and your hair is kept in place all day.
Finally, it is very easy to wash out, and seems to leave your hair still looking shiny, with no build up of residue.........I would definitely recommend this product. ...

Advantages: Non sticky non waxy Disadvantages: You smell like a candy bar
...it and that is where fudge fits in.
I use all the fudge products from the shampoo and conditioner to the post dry stling range. I find the fudge waxy sort of thing they have made is great. Unlike the old sytle wax it does not make your hair look like it has not been washed in 6 weeks. You need very little to get your hair into the right position and the staying power even under hot lights is good. I do warn you though it can be remoulded once applied ...

Advantages: Holds Curly Hair & improves the look Disadvantages: Looks like silly putty, feels like putty
...fantastic. With my faithful companion Fudge sat next to me. I decided at the end of July this year to get my hair cut. I asked what could be done to control my curl & make it look presentable. She reached for a small orange tub, rubbed her hands & styled my hair into a masterpiece - the curls were more plentiful, but all beautifully formed - I paid the lady & bought for £8 earth pounds a small tub of Fudge factor 3. The world was at my mercy now.
... ...problem I have now with fudge is you ideally have to apply it to dry hair, or as dry as possible. So my last job before dashing out is to apply the stuff. If you apply it to wet hair, it dilutes the fudge & when it drys you end up with clumps of curls that are crispy.
To buy this naughty little product is £8 & I have to find it anywhere except hairdressers - unless any one can let me know
You can also get different types depending on your needs. ...

Advantages: Great hold. Disadvantages: Not for all hair types as it states. Can be sticky on hands.
When my brother was 15 he decided to go get a "proper" haircut. In the past he'd just let my dad attack him with the hair clippers, but all his friends were getting all these new messy cuts, so he had to join in.
As usual, when they got to the counter the hairdresser went through the suggested products and my brother ended up picking out the FudgeHair Shaper: firm hold factor 2. I had a read of the back and as well as styling it said it could also be used to scrunch hair. Since I have curly hair I have pinched it a few times to try and define my curls better.

Advantages: Shapes hair and smells great Disadvantages: Bit expensive and difficult to find
I'm dedicating this review to carlypussycat, another reviewer here on ciao, who writes great beauty reviews!
Since purchasing Fudge Shaper from Slapiton.tv. (excellent customer service by the way) it has become one of my most used and favourite products. I am a bit of a flibertygibert when it comes to beauty stuff...buying brand after brand of stuff then discarding the poor flicked off product, to be later palmed off to my unsuspecting sister or mother! Anyway the fact that my Shaper is still being used warrants me recommending it to you.
Fudge is an Australian brand and this product, Shaper, is rated as firm hold factor 2 (Creative Hair Gum 1 being the strongest). I read all about their products before deciding this seemed to be their most popular and the one most suited for my hair.

, that I start to feel that I have wasted my money - sometimes semi-permenants are more expensive than permenants.
So there I am, sitting with all my friends, over what I would like to say was a cup of frappacino or something...but was in fact a double vodka or something, discussing this problem with them, when one of them suggests using hairspray. I've always found wash in/wash outs to make your hair feel hard and sticky, but she assured me that with Fudge, this was not the case.
So the next day I rush out to find the product. I had a little problem getting hold of it...I eventually found it in Superdrug, but it wasn't in Boots or any of the cheaper stores (somethimes Wilkinson etc sell cheap hair dye). I had no idea what price it was, I hadn't been told, and when I found out it was £5.45 I nearly put it back on the shelf! But with my ...
