Shoppingpuss loves Fudged up hair!

I'm dedicating this review to carly_pussycat, another reviewer here on ciao, who writes great beauty reviews!

Fudge is an Australian brand and this product, Shaper, is rated as firm hold factor 2 (Creative Hair Gum 1 being the strongest). I read all about their products before deciding this seemed to be their most popular and the one most suited for my hair.

In the orange and silver 100g tub of Fudge Shaper I found what looked like white creamy textured wax/cream. It felt sticky to the touch and I was very dubious at first about putting this gunk on my hair...but the smell lured me in. Hmmm... fudge smell. I loved the smell immediately. So I dipped in my fingers into this white sticky fudge cream, rubbed my hands together a bit, then spread and scrunched it into my dry hair to create a wavy messed up look. I was immediately surprised at how well it worked and although I had scrunched in a fair bit, my hair didn't look greasy or feel heavy either. My hands however did need to be washed straight away otherwise anything touched would have been fudged! The product stayed in all day and every time I moved my head I could smell fudge, hmm.. very nice. My husband was sniffing my hair too. On touching my hair it didn't feel sticky like it has with other wax products. It also washed out really easily too, with just one wash of my usual shampoo. I thought I would need special clarifying shampoo to get it out.

Although I've had my Shaper about 6 months I still have about half left, as you really only need a small amount of product each time. It has also been great to use in damp weather as it is humidity resistant . My hair is quite thick/course and I've found that although the product does not come out, the srunching does tend to drop slightly by the end of the day. However, if your hair does go a bit flat, if you dampen your hand and scrunch your hair up...voila! it is back in shape again! When my hair has been razor cut (therefore much lighter) the style stays in longer, so I would say that this product would work even better on fine hair. I've found too that using it on dry hair works best for me as the style stays in better, but it can be used on damp hair too. My hair is a bit longer than it was when I first used it, but it still works great. I think it would be perfect for anyone wanting tousled looking long hair, scrunched up short bobbed hair or on very short spikey hair. It would work very well on curly or permed hair as it is not drying and would encourage curl. To be honest, I'm so addicted to this stuff I think I would spread a bit on my head even if I were bald.. just for the smell! (Think Cadbury Creme Eggs). Ok, I'm sounding a bit sad now!

Quite a difficult one to track down. Since purchasing my gorgeous little tub from Slapiton.tv I have actually seen it in a couple of little beauty shops in Essex for about £9.50. Rather than trying to find it in the shops you would probably be best to buy it online. Hairtec sell it or you can get yours from Slapiton.tv like I did for £8.95 including postage.
