I bought this disposable camera while waiting to board my flight in Gatwick airport. It was our honeymoon to the Maldives, after getting married the day before. While shopping round duty free shops, I remembered that I hadn't bought one of these underwater cameras with all the preparing and panicking. Luckily, that was all we had forgotten! Usually a must have for us, as we love to snorkel while we are away. I found the underwater disposables in a branch of Dixons, in the airport, retailing at just £8.50. In our usual store normally, in the past we have paid around £12.99.

Well, we eventually arrived at our destination. Very hot (unbearable) so we decided to cool off straight away with a bit of snorkelling! The sights we saw while snorkelling in the clear blue waters of the Indian Ocean were amazing. The beautiful coulours of the fish, all different in every way. We saw Octopus - small ones - thank God!, Parrott fish, barracuda, trigger fish, unicorn fish, neadlenose fish..... there were millions of them. We also saw a grey tipped reef shark, but thankfully this was when we were looking into the water from our jetty - works just as well out of as it does in the water. In fact this camera lasted no more than 2 hours. Further into our honeymoon, we missed not having a camera while snorkelling, so as the hotel shop sold these disposable underwater cameras we decided to re-invest in another one. The cameras they sold were the Kodak Sport, exactly the same ones as we saw in the airport, slightly more expensive though. We bought one.Getting carried away with all the snapping, this camera lasted 35 minutes.
The Results: After returning back home to England, the first thing was to take our films in for developing. When we got them back, the photos from the Fuji Quicksnap Marine disposable camera were excellent. The same pictures I store in my memory, of the bright colours and nice blues....... And then I opened the prints from the Kodak sports camera. Suprisingly, I'd have expected the same quality, if not better than the one of the Fuji film. It was awful. The prints were lacking contrast with murky 'muddy' colours. The differences in quality were also apparent with the few snaps I'd taken out of the water. There were no changes in the weather while we were there, every day looked the same. But on the prints the Kodak photos looked a little dull, hardly any blue in the sky. Whereas the Fuji photos showed exactly what it was like - blue skies, different colour blues in the waters. I only wished I could show the readers of my opinion on this matter the differences between these photos!
The fuji was also the easiest to use, thanks to its oversized controls. Trying the find the the small viewfinder underwater is a little tricky. But I found it best to hold the camera at arms length and align it that way - a suprisingly effective way to frame the subject.
The disadvantage with this camera though, was the 'lever' used to take pictures. While snorkelling (and also while in water) you don't realise your own strength so it's 'lever' is easily caught and you don't realise when you have taken a photo by accident. My advice is just to use the wrist band then the camera left floating - if you just hold it in a comfrtable position making sure that your aren't near the 'lever', you will not experience this problem!
Advantages: Cheaper than the competitors, good quality photographs Disadvantages: Deceiving viewfinder.
...are Kodak and Fuji, with Fuji usually costing about £1 less in the shops.
The Fuji is fairly simple to operate, but it is quite easy to take a picture by accident so it's best not to wind the film on until you want to take the next picture.
The main disadvantage of the Fuji is that it's viewfinder window bears very little resemblance to the actual picture you're taking. It shows you the central space - giving the impression of a more close-up view. ... ...only hope now is to get the photo enlarged and then recut it to standard size...
Other than this, the photoes are good and the Fuji is of equal quality to the Kodak versions. As long as you are aware of the problem I would still recommend this product. ...

Quick review of Fuji Single-use waterproof camera
I bought this camera very cheaply off Ebay and so was not expecting top spec photo’s. However, when I had the pictures developed I was amazed at their quality – the clarity was great and the colours fantastic.
I took a few shots away from the beach and these were better than my usual single use camera – I wished I had taken all my holiday shots with the underwater camera! ...
