Fuji have managed to produce a high quality 2.1 mega pixel digital camera for less than £300. So what I hear you cry, well, if you look at what you get then you cannot fail to be impressed.
For starters, the Fuji Finepix 2800 is equipped with a massive 6 x optical lens, for those of you who don't know how this compares to a standard SLR camera, this is similar to a 200mm zoom lens. This is all done inside a camera that is incredibly light.
In addition to this you get a camera that (dependant on the size of smart media) can record a couple of minutes of video as well. You can also add up to 30 seconds of "voice tag" on to each image, not sure whyy you would want to though.
The camera comes complete with 4 AA batteries (not rechargeables unfortunately) and a 16Mb smart media card, this should be more than capable of holding all the images you could ever require, if you shoot using VGA mode you can get up to 122 images on it before you have to down load them.
The camera is very battery hungry, you probably get only 200 shots out of each set of 4 AA batteries, this is further reduced if you use the LCD screen rather than the digital viewfinder to view the images.
The image quality is good, although you can get much better cameras (for much more money) you are still able to zoom well into the image before it becomes blurred.
The menu system on the camera is easy to use and after 10 mins with the camera I had mastered it.
The camera comes with software to help to view the images on your pc (or MAC) however, this is fairly basic and you would probably be better off using the more commercially available titles for image manipulation.
The camera can also be used as a web cam, as is very common with items of this type.
In summary, if there is a better digital camera out there for under £300 then I have yet to find it.

Great review. I purchased mine a little while back now. I wouldn't swap it for the world. The camera is a great size, not bulky at all. My only problem is I find the shutter speed to slow, esp if your taking pictures of the kids running around.
