I purchased the Finepix 30i as my first Fujifilm digital camera and you can't help but feel let down. You read the 'MP3 player' and 'Movie mode with audio' on the packaging and think you have had a great deal.
As soon as you take the camera out of the box, it feels like a toy! It is very light, which should be a good thing, but when things like the lens cover are moved (which is manual by the way!) and the buttons are pressed, you feel like you'll break it!
Features wise, it offers the works. You get MP3 playback, 20 seconds movie mode with audio, voice captioning and 2.5x digital zoom. So for your money, you get all the features. The corners are cut on materials used for the camera and the build of it.
Generally, the 30i is a good camera to start with. As long as you are careful with it, aren't too serious about photography (to worry about EV and White Balance etc.) and don't take photos in extreme situations, it is a good buy.
Final advice: If you can afford to shell out a bit more, get the Fujifilm Finepix 40i, which has all the features of the 30i improved, plus Super CCD for higher quality photos.
Too bad you are writing so many reviews in one day. All of them are great but I can only rate 3 of them because the rule here is that you can only post 3 a day. Sorry I couldn't rate this one. Lyla
