This camera was reccomended to me,and following that advice i purchased it. let's say i was more than happy with it. First let me warn you. If you are a digital camera enthusiast looking for the top cameras on the market with superb functionality, than this camer ais NOT for you. However, if you are someone such as myself, who does not know too much about the technology and wants an easy use camera that shoots quailty images, at an affordable price, than this camera IS definately for you. The A310's 3.1-megapixel CCD captures high resolution images with good detail, and its largely-automatic exposure control makes it ideal for beginners in the digital camera world, such as myself when i purchased this.
While this camera is ideal for beginers with its easy to use functionality and auto shoot modes, if you prefer, the camera can be switched into manual shooting mode. This allows you to adjust and change things such as the four scene modes; portrait, landscape, sports and night; aswell as white balance and sensitivity options. The A310 is Fuji's lowest priced camera with a SuperCCD sensor. The 3.1 million hexagonal-shaped sensors on the SuperCCD HR sensor allow it to produce images with 6 million pixels. That doesn't mean it is a 6 Megapixel camera by any means, but it's handy for making large prints.
A 16MB xD-Picture Card comes with the camera, but you'll want to purchase a larger size almost immediately, given the A310's maximum 2,816 x 2,120-pixel resolution. (The xD-Picture Card itself is very tiny, rivaling the popular SD memory cards in size.) The A310 uses two AA-type batteries for power, either alkaline or NiMH, and an optional AC adapter is available. A set of single-use AA alkaline batteries comes with the camera, but I strongly recommend purchasing a couple of sets of high-capacity NiMH batteries and a good charger, and keeping a spare set of batteries charged at all times. In my testing, the A310 offered better than average battery life for a camera powered by only two AA cells, but I still strongly recommend purchasing at least a couple of sets of high-capacity rechargeable cells to use with it. Fuji estimates that you can take about 205 photos using alkalines, 340 using the optional ($20) NH-10 battery pack, or 300 photos with your own 1700 mAh NiMH batteries (assumes 50% LCD use in all cases). That's not bad.
The A310 is a compact, all-plastic camera. It definitely does not feel as solid as other cameras in its class. The body is compact (much more so than the A205/210), and it will fit in your pockets with ease. While the important controls are easy to reach, I'm not a fan of the too-small four-way controller. The camera manual is typical of those included with most digital cameras. It's complete, but finding what you're looking for may be difficult. There's lots of small print as well.
To summarise this is fantastic camera ideal for beginners in the digital camera world. You will find it fun and easy to use and produce some great images.
