    ~ ~ Some of you will probably recall that the mad cabbie's first venture into the world of digital photography was an unmitigated disaster. Back in June of last year (2004) I bought the Creative PC-CAM 880 in a local electrical superstore, for no good reason other than it was under €100 in price, and boasted a resolution of 3.0 million effective megapixels.     FUJIFILM FINEPIX A330 3.2MP DIGITAL CAMERA The 3.2mp count is a bit on the low side these days but the A330 still performs well and the pictures it takes is still excellent quality. It originally cost me £99 but should be a lot less if you find it today. The camera is silver, charcoal grey with a spot of metallic blue. It's made of plastic, and metallic in some areas. It has a viewfinder, flash, 1.5" LCD display and a sliding lens cover, which is used to turn the camera on and off. It's light, even with the two AA batteries inside weighing around only 200g.     Being a digital camera novice and first time buyer I was looking for something with plenty of features that are easy to use. I wanted lots of facilities without the need to wade through a manual and a point and click style camera with easy editing and deletion. On having a look around the Finepix A330 seemed to fit the bill perfectly. The A330 is the bottom of its range. As such it has the fewest features but also is ridiculously simple to use.     THE INTRO OR THE OUTTRO? It was with no apparent intention to buy that the Coolster thumbed his way through his ex wife's 'Bigtree's' autumn/winter 2004 Catalogue (note: That's a not so cryptic, cryptic clue as to the real name, guesses in comments please).     Being a bit slow to get into this digital camera business I managed to get my hands on this nice wee Fuji A330 at the recommendation of a friend. It cost me £69.99 and the lady at ASDA told me I was really lucky as they had just found 1 last camera to sell and that they don't stock it any more. Anyway, I got the wee green box home and opened it up to find the camera, a USB lead, a TV lead, a wee stand thing for if you choose to buy the docking station, 2 AA batteries and a camera hand strap and a slip for a 1 year garuntee from Fuji.
