I bought this camera mainly because it was cheap, and that is reflected in the overall quality. to be frank it's not worth the £85 I paid for it! It is a difficult camera to use when you want to review the photos already taken, after around six months it became apparent something was wrong it kept flashing 'read error' at me!
Don't get me wrong, for a first camera this is ideal as it isn't too complicated, but for quality photographs I recommend ... ...I've had many photos ruined because of red eye issues. Yet as much as i dislike it, it does have a good feature in the shape of the colour. The light blue is a very nice colour, but the gold colour of mine does let the camera down a great deal. It can be a very aesthetically pleasing camera just the picture quality that lets it down a bit. The actual company of Fuji is a reliable company but they didn't seem to work too hard on this camera as it ...

Advantages: easy to use, simple, light, small, has optical zoom Disadvantages: feels as cheap as it is, runs out batteries quick
I picked this camera up because it was cheap, and is a reliable make. It does what it should, I've had no problems with it. The adjustable ISO settings are handy if you know what they're for, the optical zoom is a really good point, also the digital zoom is turned off by default which I see as a good point because this prevents the user from distorting photos without meaning to.
I recommend this camera to anyone who is new to digital cameras and ... ...of settings. This would also be a perfect present for a teenager or even a child, it is that easy to use. The blue colour is nice too.
5MP is a decent size for all needs, and this can be changed in the menus to up to 0.3mp, which still keeps its quality but makes the photos small enough to email quickly without any need to resize them on fiddly computer programs.
In conclusion: A small, sweet camera for anyone who just wants to take photos, perfect ...

I have had this Camera for a year and I am not happy with it. I find it only takes good pics when the room is bright, or they come out black. I can not rely on the flash at all. Also it always dies, weather I put freshly charged batteries or brand new batteries it immediately flashes low battery and shuts off. Alot of times when I am looking through my photos I get a message on the screen "card read error" and it will not let me view the pics. So I will not be considering fujifilm when I perchase my next camera.

Advantages: Digital and optical zoom, range of colours, 5.1 mp Disadvantages: Fiddly buttons
I got this digital camera for christmas last year and since then it had been really good. I love the design especially the fact that it comes in different colours . I have it in gold and i think it looks great!
(using it...)
Its more complicated than the camera i previously had but i find it easy to use. However people that have borowed my camera have said that it is difficult to zoom in and zoom out as the button is raised and you have to press ... ...It is 5.1 megapixles which produces really good pictures. The screen is good enough for viewing but not too big so the button size suffers.
Overall i realy like this camera and the pictures it produces but someone who has not had a digital camera before might find comlicated to use. ...

Advantages: Reduced Red Eye, Superb Quality Pictures Disadvantages: Short Battery Life, Memory card not included
The Program this Camera Comes with is absolutely excellent for removing red eye manually, it also works so you can edited pre-stored jpegs. its very quick uploading to pc via usb. Although the programme then adds its self to start up as soon as your computer is switched on. this can be changed by clicking run; then type; msconfig press enter, then press the start up tab from the top then de-select from the right hand side.
Apart from that the program ... ...with 15.6 x total zoom, pretty impressive for the price, it also goes up to 5.1 megapixels, but if you dont have a memory card with it, it can only hold up to 3 pictures on this high quality setting. The setting for taking pictures of fast moving things i.e motorcar racing is also pretty impressive too no bluring!! overall id give this camera 7/10. its definately worth the price :)
Although take extra batteries of your using it for a special occasion ...

Manufacturer's product description
The FinePix A510 Zoom is a camera that equips the starter with all they need. It spares you the technical complexity that can get in the way of a good shot, and covers the basics more than adequately. Fujifilm has over a decade of expertise in producing first-rate digital images, and it shows in this 5 million pixel camera. For the first time, Fujifilm's proprietary Super CCD sensor has been used in the entry-level camera in the range. The only way to see the benefit of this feature is to savor the photos - crisp, colorful and clear, this camera enhances the reputation of Super CCD for creating pictures that don't look digital - they look real. Digital photography isn't everyone's specialist subject, however this camera is as accessible as they come. How often have you found that you can't work out why your pictures look wrong, only to find that you had mistakenly pressed one of the many buttons for features that you would never use? With the A510 Zoom, Fujifilm has done what most people have been hoping for: create a camera that cuts your bad shots to an absolute minimum. Some situations demand a little bit of photographic expertise. Luckily, the A510 Zoom has got this all built-in. If you fancy taking a portrait, sports photo, landscape or night scene, the A510 Zoom gives you the option of four modes that set the camera up to achieve optimum results. We all know that the number of pixels can only be brought to life by the processor within the camera. On top of that, the lens plays a decisive role in influencing the quality of the final image. The FinePix A510 Zoom makes full use of the pedigree of professional-standard optical design.
==SPEC==
IMAGE QUALITY: It does have good points however. 7.2 Megapixels isn't bad for the price. The Optical Zoom is a slightly below-average 3x, with a respectable 4.8 Digital Zoom. Most features, however, are only standard - nothing unusual. This... more
