I have to admit I know very little about cameras and even less about digital ones - it takes me all my time to point and click!!
Nevertheless, about three years ago now my wife bought a fujifinepix A303camera at a cost of about £250 when we were celebrating our silver wedding. It seemed to work OK for a couple of years and then it just stopped functioning - all the lights worked but when you clicked the shutter no pictures came out.
So, last month I decided to replace it - with another fuji, a A610. As I don't know anything about cameras it was a complete shot in the dark (sorry about the pun), and I'm not really able to judge the difference between a fuji or a kodak or pentax.
This time, the camera which has, according to the box, a much higher specification than our earlier one was just £89.99 from Boots. Again, it appears to work OK, just point it at the subject and click.
The photos it takes are good quality and when down loaded onto my Adobe they can be 'messed about with' to get rid of 'red eye' and cropped etc.
The controls on the A610 are a little bit more complicated than those on the A303 and the booklet which comes in the box is way over my head - the leaflet is just about understandable
However, the reason I feel that I've been robbed is that looking on the Ciao comparison this camera is now available for only £67!! Has the cost of a digital camera gone down by 20% in a month?
The test of this camera, I suppose, is just how long it lasts before it gives up the ghost like its predecessor. If I get two or three years use out of it for £89 then I would consider that reasonable value for money.
The trouble with all modern technology is that they quickly become out of date so the price of older models drops! That said I do like Fuji cameras and they are one of the best makes if you want to take pictures in low light without using the flash.
Sorry but there is so much you have left out of this review. Would help if you had rated others then you would have a better idea of what is needed for a very helpful review. Ratings are what make Ciao so if you don't rate it is not fair in my opinion to expect any yourself. If everyone took that approach then nobody would have any ratings at all. Sorry don't mean to sound rude but you see my point. Laura

To get a VH you need to you into more detail but a good start all the same.
