    Advantages Advantages Very useful 28 mm wideangle, plenty of features, quite fast

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Rather cheap construction, useless movie mode, xD cards are expensive

    The Fujfilm FinePix E500 (henceforth in this review "the E500") is a 4.1-megapixel camera which dates from late 2004. It was introduced as the base model in a range that also included the 5-megapixel E510 and the six-megapixel E550, which other than resolution are very similar. The E500 is of course no longer available new, but it is a fairly common camera and if you have a bit of patience £30 should suffice to buy an example in quite good condition from eBay.     I have purchased mine from ASDA £149.99 which included a case, 64mb card and a 16mb card also this was a bargain in site of the rrp £199 and the cost of both cards and a case adding extra value too my purchase. I was very pleased and considered it a bargain !! The camera what can i say i have had it just over a month and i still dont know what all the buttons do there is a lot of reading to be done unless like me u are happy too choose auto which will take the photo choices for you still giving great photos.     If you are a bit of a technophobe like me but want to get into the digital age then the FinePix E500 by Fujifilm is a great little camera, easy to use with simple instructions and quite light to handle. Reasonably priced this little camera can handle most of your basic photography needs and also includes a video facility which is good fun although you only get 60 seconds of recording. You have to have a steady hand because it is quite sensitive to movement but once you have mastered it you can produce great pictures with the standard or zoom lens.
