Having owned the HS10 for 3 months I have found it to be generally excellent. Being the owner of large hands, I have to have a larger camera as I struggle to use smaller compact digital cameras. There is an embarrassment of features on this model, most of which I haven't even got to yet. There are settings for everyone from the complete novice up to well versed camera nerd. I am a little unimpressed by the night shooting ability, where it struggles for focus and the flash takes time to recharge. I also keep inadvertently pressing the review button with my thumb. The flash also gets in the way when you try to zoom quickly. In regard to the zoom, be aware that it is not a power zoom. I like the Iris sensing viewer and the overall feel of the camera. Most of all though, I love the panoramic feature. One click, swing through 180 degrees, and the HS10 stitches the panoramic picture together. The results are phenomenal. Overall, then, I like the camera and would recommend it for the enthusiastic amateur.
