The FujiFinePix S1500 is the latest incarnation of the very successful FinePix S1000fd. It is very SLR-like in appearance and the added bulk of the battery-holder/grip does give it an assured feeling in your hands. Of course, this can be a disadvantage, and if you want a camera that you can just slip in-and-out of your pocket, then maybe a slimmer compact should be considered.
The 12x optical zoom is excellent and it equates to 33-396mm in 35mm terms - and if this isn't enough, there is a 5.7x digital zoom feature too.
The menus are friendly and easy to navigate, and there are helpful explanatory prompts that appear on thew LCD screen when the mode-dial setting is changed.

The FujiFinePix F70EXR is billed by the manufacturer as the slimmest 10x zoom camera on the market and, at less than 23mm in depth, it is certainly very easy and convenient to carry around. The zoom is great for magnification, being the equivalent of 27-270mm in 35mm terms, but I found it to be a little fuzzy at the long end. There is also a 4x digital zoom for anyone who wants it.
The FinePix F-series cameras are renowned for their low-light (high ISO) capabilities and the F70EXR should be no exception, sharing as it does the 1/2 inch sensor of the F200EXR but with 2 million fewer pixels crammed onto it. Also the EXR technology is great for combating noise on higher ISO shots.
Obviously the F70EXR is small, compact and lightweight and, in general, feels great to hold, with all the controls being conveniently placed ? apart from ...
Much has been made in recent years if the quality of low-light/high ISO images produced by the FujiFinePix F30 and F31d cameras - and rightly so. By not trying to cram more and more pixels onto their sensor, Fuji have been able to concentrate on getting better performance out of the ones that are already there and the 6mp cameras certainly make the most of the available light.
This tradition has been upheld with the development of the EXR sensor and the release of the F200EXR - a serious compact camera, with a serious price tag of around £330 (RRP).
It is basically an old FujiFinePix F100fd with the new EXR sensor. It is a different colour but there aren't many other differences on the surface.

The Fujifilm IS Pro is the next generation of UVIR compatible DSLR and is built on the same platform as the FinePix S5 Pro digital SLR system. And like the S5 Pro is compatible with Nikon F mount lenses and Nikon iTTL flash systems. The IS Pro, utilizes Fujifilm's Super CCD Pro and Real Photo Processor Pro technology to see light from the ultraviolet (UV), visible and near infrared (IR) portion of the spectrum (approx. 380nm - 1000nm). Fujifilm's Real Photo Processor technology has significantly brought alternative wavelength photography to a new level of sophistication and usefulness. The IS Pro has an extremely low noise signature and high 3200 ISO sensitivity. Low noise and high ISO's are critical to alternative wavelength low light photography methods that can significantly tax any digital cameras output with respect to clarity and sharpness.
