The FujiFinePix S1500 is the latest incarnation of the very successful FinePix S1000fd. It is very SLR-like in appearance and the added bulk of the battery-holder/grip does give it an assured feeling in your hands. Of course, this can be a disadvantage, and if you want a camera that you can just slip in-and-out of your pocket, then maybe a slimmer compact should be considered.
The 12x optical zoom is excellent and it equates to 33-396mm in 35mm terms - and if this isn't enough, there is a 5.7x digital zoom feature too.
The menus are friendly and easy to navigate, and there are helpful explanatory prompts that appear on thew LCD screen when the mode-dial setting is changed.

I wanted to buy a replacement camera and as this was in a sale I decided I made based on the price charged for digital camera's that this was a good choice. I was pleased with the levels of facilities and the ease of use that this camera offered. I took the black colour camera. The mega pixel rate is 10.2 which provides really clear pictures. I previously owned a Samsung s860 and Samsung s760 cameras which both broke down because of the zoom shutter malfunctioning after a year of useage. I decided buying a non Samsung product for this reason alone, and thought that buying a Fujifilm would be a better alternative and much cheaper as well.
The transfer time on the USB is very slow on the Fujifilm. Another slight disadvantage of using this product is that the camera at 10.2 mega pixels takes pictures with 2.5 megabytes. I have to spend ...

The FujiFinePix F70EXR is billed by the manufacturer as the slimmest 10x zoom camera on the market and, at less than 23mm in depth, it is certainly very easy and convenient to carry around. The zoom is great for magnification, being the equivalent of 27-270mm in 35mm terms, but I found it to be a little fuzzy at the long end. There is also a 4x digital zoom for anyone who wants it.
The FinePix F-series cameras are renowned for their low-light (high ISO) capabilities and the F70EXR should be no exception, sharing as it does the 1/2 inch sensor of the F200EXR but with 2 million fewer pixels crammed onto it. Also the EXR technology is great for combating noise on higher ISO shots.
