After seeing reviews for this camera i thought i should write one.I bought the fujifilm finepix camera 6 weeks ago and i have got alot of usage out of it. trying to make my way from amateur photography to semi-pro i needed to upgrade my camera and after seeing reviews for this saying good and bad things i thought I'd give it a try. The first thing i noticed when holding the camera is how comfortable it sits in your hand, although it isn't the lightest camera i have used it is easy to hold without any discomfort. It is an 8 megapixel camera and although reviews have said it doesn't reach the full potential i have found no problems if the settings are right.
It has 26mb internal memory and supports XD and SD memory cards. pictures are automatically saved as jpeg files and it also captures movies with sound and they are saved as avi files, which are small meaning you can take more photo's.It has a 2.5" lcd screen which can be viewed from side on as well as front on which means you can show people photo's on the camera and you don't need to huddle up. The camera's flash automatically balances the light so instead of getting a dark background with a really bright shiny subject, it has a bright background and a bright subject with equal levels of light and not shiny.
with a 10x optical zoom lens, i have found you can take quality pictures from quite a distance and with 5.1 digital zoom you can really get in close when objects are far away, it also has 2 macro features, the standard lets you get up close with great quality and it has a close up feature letting you take pictures of objects up to 1cm away with no blurring and excellent quality which means you can take perfect pictures of flowers, insects, coins etc.... it has a shutter speed from 4 sec to 1/1000 depending on lighting modes so if the lighting is good and the subject is moving fast, you can still get a perfect picture without it being blurred. It also has 11 programed functions, including auto functions, manual functions and semi auto functions.
It takes 4 AA batteries which are also supplied and if you get good quality batteries and you use your camera daily, they can last up to 2 weeks, it comes with a shoulder strap, lens cap, usb cable and all the software you need include picture editing software.
The only downside is that you can't by extra/add on lenses however most people buying this camera will be starting out so that shouldn't be a problem. I would seriously recommend this camera to beginners and semi-pro photographers. if you would like to see the quality of the images it takes, all the images on my website were taken with this camera.

How helpful would this review be to a person making a buying decision? Rating guidelines
Sorry for the low rate, you could have included a picture or 2 to detail to give evidence of what you are showcasing i.e the finished output, and by all means describe what the features are, and what it does not. My opinion a middle price £124-£165 is not really in the budget league really. Budget camera's anything in my book are £20- a maximum of £100. Plus what does a amateur camera taker need 10x optical zoom, and what does a 10x zoom do more better than a picture using a 3 or 6x zoom? I will be more than happy to re rate if you can amend this.
Advantages: Small, simple to use, great zoom and creat quality pics. Disadvantages: Hmmm... the only one would be the viewfinder. A cover for it would be nice.
