Advantages: Easy to get started with a range of advanced features to learn about Disadvantages: Buttons are a little small for the more sausage-fingered user

I bought the Z100 mainly to have a small, point-and-click camera I could keep on me at all times, to take shots quickly and with reasonable definition. It fulfils this function perfectly and, having fitted it with a decent memory card, I have captured images I would not have been able to with my usual camera (although as an SLR Film camera, the comparison is perhaps a little unfair)
The camera unit is not cluttered with buttons, and anything outside zooming or taking the picture is dealt with through the on-screen menu. Should you want to use these more advanced settings you will need to read the instructions first, as you can get lost in the drop-down menus. The buttons themselves are quite small and, while I have not tried yet, I could see problems with taking pictures wearing gloves or with numb fingers - but most people will probably not have to worry about that!
Once taken, the images appear on a display which is surprisingly large and clear for such a small unit. You can doctor the images in various ways, such as trimming down the picture, but you are better off waiting until you have downloaded the images onto a computer.
You are also able to record movies on the camera, although this will fill your memory card very quickly. It also has facial recognition and image stabilisation facilities. There are a range of preset photograph options, meaning you do not have to worry about shutter speeds and appertures, you just select the best option. These include: portrait, landscape, sport, night, fireworks, sunset and snow.
There is also a timer feature, should you want to frame and take a picture with you in the image. Should you want to develop your artistic skill, you are able to play with an array of functions, explained clearly in the reasonably easy-to-follow instructions.
One of the cleverest features is being able to record comentary of up to thirty seconds for each of your photographs. This means not having to grab a notebook or scrap of paper, should you want to make a note of the image you have just captured.

Advantages: Lightness, ease of use, good looks, price Disadvantages: Limited functions, some of which are pointless. Hard to take seriously
One word, folks: pretty. Look at it. You don't buy this camera because you want to be Liebowitz or Lynley, you buy this camera because you want to take photos of your friends on your nights out, and you want to look really cute while you do it.
Perhaps I'm being harsh - the litle digicam does have an impressive specification. Break it down: - VERY THIN shell (well under an inch) at 19.8 mm that still houses an impressive 8 MP camera (as much as ... ...- ISO 100-1600 sensitivity at full revolution
- Face Detection Technology (for the less experienced photographer - analyses what's in your viewfinder and adjusts the focus to centre on the face (very clever).
- Despite the small dimensions, you don't lose out too badly on the screen - 2.7 inch. I paid more for a Nikon with a far smaller screen (because I'm an idiot). The resolution is an impressive 23,000 pixels and the LCD technology is top quality. ...

Advantages: Good quality photos, slim and sleek design Disadvantages: Menu takes a bit of getting used to
I got this camera as a christmas present and it is by far the best camera i have had. One of the main reason that i like this camera is for its optical zoom as it takes much better quality photos than digital zoom, although it also has digital zoom for anyone who wishes to use it. Its slim and sleek design makes it easy to carry around and it also includes a wrist strap which is always very handy. There are many different settings on the camera for ... ...there is an automatic setting but these settings are great for people who love photography. Equipt with a great memory card this camera can take thousands of photos, depending on how many megapixels you have set on the camera but even the highest quality megapixel takes many photos. The camera is so easy to upload the photos onto your computer, all you have to do is plug it with the USB cable you get with it and your uploading the photos in no time. ...

Advantages: design, zoom, resolution, features Disadvantages: over complicated user manual
Cracking little camera. I have this since november 2007 it is used as an everyday leisure and fun use camera no real serious stuff just good general use. I had some problems from the start with dimming of the screen but fuji film quickly sorted this out with a factory replacment ( excellent service ). I wont bore you with a massivly technical review like im sure you have read before quoting all specs from the website butwhat i will do is tell you ... ...easy to see the asthetics of the camera have been well thought about, good looks with excellent build quality, a good clean shape and design with a handy cover to protect the lense which also switchs on the camera.
The camera has many impressive features, one of which is the multiple album facility which allows you to seperate pictures into predefined albums such as holiday, family, nights out etc.
With an excellent design, amazing features, cracking ...

Advantages: Great pictures, good zoom, can be dropped and not broken! Disadvantages: None
I got this camera for christmas, so almost a year ago, and it is still going VERY strong! What an amazing little camera. I have taken it on 4 holidays abroad, along with everywhere with me in my handbag, and it has got no scratches, which is amazing considering i've dropped it on the floor many times! It takes really good photos, I compared them to photos taken on a £300 camera, and believe me mine are much brighter and better quality. I have taken ... ...the rain, in the glaring sun, and in the pitch black, and they have all come out amazing. The features on the camera make it even better, as you can focus on the objects in the foreground, or change it to party/outdoor mode, allthoug I find the auto feature best as it automatically adjusts to the setting. A massive reccomendation for someone requiring a diddy camera to take everywhere! ...

Quick review of Fujifilm FinePix Z100FD
I have several SLR's and wanted something that I could slip into my pocket that would give reasonable results. I have found that the fz100 gives good photographic res ults for the sensor size and is very adaptable providing it is set up correctly and the lens is not smeared with dirt or grease. Dirt on the lens causes a mushy picture that can be mistaken for sensor noise, once cleaned however the picture results are very acceptable. ...
