For as long as I have known, I have always wanted an instant camera and I thought I would end up buying a Polaroid.
However, on a visit to the Argos catalogue shop I noticed another instant camera, the Instax 100 - made by Fujifilm. Despite Polaroid's dominance in this niché market, it looks like Fujifilm may have beaten them at their own game.
I bought the "Big Party" pack, which comprises of the camera, a black carry case, four "AA" (Pen width) batteries, a shoulder strap and two packs of 10 picture film.
The camera is large and seems too bulky at first, but you soon get used to it. The instructions are easy to follow and you will find you are ready in no time at all.
The features were the first things which drew me to this camera. It has a small LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) to show how many pictures you have left, a two zone focus lens (for close-up and distance shots), a lowlight automatic flash (which you can alter the brightness of, depending on the light conditions), a wide picture format and an ergonomic, comfortable grip design.
Although this camera can only use Fujifilm Instax film packs (which can be hard to find in camera shops, unless you live in a city or go to Argos), the quality of the print is excellent and the film is cheaper than the Polaroid film!
Unlike the Polaroid, the pictures come out of the top, although unfortunately it doesn't have a timer, which would have been a useful addition. The greatest thing for me though, is that the lens extends from the body, when switched on and retracts when you turn it off!!
Despite being more expensive than the Polaroid cameras, I still think it is worth it! Its a very snazzy, well designed camera, with some cool features and well worth paying extra for.
Advantages: Instant Photos, Outstanding Quality, Easy to use Disadvantages: Price of Film
My previous camera was a "normal" camera, 35mm film, needing to be developed. I could never remember if I had actually used the film or not - most of the time putting it away to get developed and it coming back with nothing on it!!! and costing me money at the same time!!! I decided to buy an Instant Camera, to avoid this problem, plus really to experiment with Photography. With an Instant Camera you can see immediately where you have gone wrong ... ...subject in the middle of the shot etc., And, of course, the photo comes out straight away, so no more waiting days or sometimes weeks, to view your snaps. My kids have taken a liking to it, and they too are now snapping as much as me!! The quality of the photos are outstanding, and I am getting much better at taking pictures now!!!!!!! ...

Advantages: Exellent pictures Disadvantages: a tad bulky...
Having lost my previous camera i was looking for a new one, something not too expensive and quite easy to use.
What i wasn't looking for was an instant camera but after reading the description on this one i was forced to try it. It was a 'snap'(ho ho) at £23.00 and also looks really smart. The functions are simple to use and you are not left trying to figure out what buttons are for what an hour later. It's not a compact camera, it's quite bulky ... ...easy to hold and take photos with.
The films are rather pricey too, about £5.50 per 10 pictures, but if you think that you have the convinience of having photos straight away and not having to pay any money for developing, then it seems worth while paying the dosh.
I have taken atleast 40 photo's with mine and NOT ONE has come out badly, so i was well impressed. The colours are clear and accurate and the pictures are sharp. so overall for the price ...

Advantages: Instant pictures Disadvantages: Bulky to carry around
I bought this camera when going to visit my grandson as a novelty and because I never finish a film before he has grown another 2 inches!
This is a great camera for having fun with the family.
The picture quality is not always reliable but I have taken some very good photos with this camera.
The camera itself is not expensive to buy but it quite bulky. Although the films are quite expensive to buy you do not have to pay for the developement of ...

Advantages: easy to use, instant pics Disadvantages: expensive film, not the best quality colour
I have had my Fujifilm Instax for almost a year now and I love it to bits. It looks cool and funky and is so simple to operate that even a neighbours young daughter manages to take pics without chopping everyone's head off! Loading the film is quick and easy and it doesn't have to be taken to a shop to be developed. On the downside the films are expensive and the colour could do with being a little better but if I wanted great quality I would use ... ...at things like Christmas parties, you can move around snapping away at friends and relatives that you might not see very often and then just hand them the pics and they can take their memories home with them. I have family that lives in mainland Europe and did just that last Christmas, this saved me having to get the photos developed and then the risk of posting them overseas wondering whether they would ever arrive. My advice is if you like to party, ...
