Fuji s602Pro Zoom, good all rounder.

Advantages: Ergonomic feel, lens quality, superb battery life
Disadvantages: Slow with best 6MP setting, poor low light focus.

After several years of film photography, I made a partial changeover to an Olympus C40z as my first step. That was OK, but I got the BiggaMegaPixelBug, and wanted something with better resolution. I chose the Fuji on its good reputation, their excellent Fujinon lenses, and, at the time, a very good price deal. I've used some techie terms in this review, so I've added a mini glossary at the very end, I hope this helps.... *** Image setting and quality : The Fuji is somewhat strangely classified as an effective 3.1 megapixel (3.1 million pixels, or MP) but is also capable of "recording" images at 6MP. This tends to lead to some confusion, but I solved this by simply leaving it on Fine 3MP setting. The 6MP setting is achieved by Fuji's new SuperCCD technology which sets out the photodiodes in an interwoven pattern. I have to be ...

Review of Fujifilm FinePix S602 Pro Zoom

Fujifilm Strike Again

Advantages: The camera is brilliant, everything I wanted and didn't get with my vivitar camera
Disadvantages: I wanted a red one :D That's it really. A few problems with the scene modes but nothing too bad

heard before that they can be a bit cruel when it comes to returning products, a lot of them don?t allow you to return a product once it has been opened and used, so I was a bit worried that I would not get my money back. Buying the Camera We went into the shop, fully expecting a problem with the fact that I had used the camera and tested it out, however a lady who recognised us from the previous day (she sold my mum her tumble dryer) and helped us out immensely. One of the first things she said was that she would have never have sold us this camera in the first place, it is supposed to be quite poor and the girl that sold it us should have really known that. She asked us then if we had seen the Fujifilm offer on at the moment. It had £10 off and meant that the price of the camera was still within my price range, but I would be ...

Review of Fujifilm FinePix A170

Fujifilm Fujicolor Superia 400

Advantages: Extremely Versatile film and excellent value for money
Disadvantages: Grain is noticable and flesh tones are not quite right

and it doesn't lose it in this respect. The results are certainly good enough for most part-time photographers, but not for those who have a good interest in the skill, or are professionals. There are better 400 ISOs out there if you need the fast response. Value for Money: Well, for all my harping about loss of colour saturation and grain this film is still great value for money. Price varies so it is stupid to quote here, but needless to say, buying bulk off the internet is by far the cheapest option. But even so, this film for all its versatility is still extremely cheap. Conclusion: If you are a pro/semi-pro stay away from this film because its purpose is not to impress. But don't let this put off the ordinary user, this is an everyman film. So if your compact automatic camera sits on the shelf for months until a wedding ...
