On the 4 megapixel 'fine' setting it can store about 60-70 photos which is fine if you have access to your computer to download them and start afresh, but nowadays plenty of people are looking for more storage space so less time is spent downloading.

On the web style setting this card can hold over 1000 photos which is great if you are wanting to post lots of holiday snaps on the internet say.
The actual card itself is very small (20 x 25 x 1.7mm) so if you have more than one they aren't going to take up your handbag space.
The best bit about this card is the fast read and write speeds:
Read speed 5 Mb/s
Write speed 3 Mb/s
This greatly increases the battery life of the camera you are using the card in as less time is spent saving/deleting a picture to the memory.
It operates at 3.3V and this card can be picked up from £10.99 which is a bargain for such a stable card.
If you have a camera which takes xD picture cards then BUY IT .
If not then i would seriously consider getting a camera which uses these (if you dont already have one) as they seem to be pretty future proof.
Hope that helps anyone who would consider purchasing one.
Advantages: Fast, spacious Disadvantages: Don't lose it
...on the cameras of Fujifilm and Olympus.
If your new digital camera comes with 16 Mb of memory, then you must upgrade to get any benefit from the camera. 128mB will give around 160 pictures for a 3 megapixel camera, 80 for a 6 mega pixel camera. With the cost of xD cards, I wouldn't advise buying a smaller card as 64 Mb will only hold half as much. Remember, that you can take the pictures then delete the dross to recover the space. But since battery ... ...small it makes sense to do the weeding out on a PC back at home.
256 and 512 mB cards are also available, but there is still quite a price premium. Also, if a year or so down the line, you decide to buy another camera, if it is not xD then you have lost the money for the card. Remember, the card comes with a small plastic box. The box is huge in comparison with the xD card, which isn’t much bigger than a 10p, but at least you have some chance of ...

Advantages: Fast, Tiney Physical Size, Decent storage for price Disadvantages: Not as wide spread as SD + Compact Flash
The Fujifilm XD Picture Card (128mb) is a very small (aprox 1.5cm) Memory card used in most Fujifilm cameras.
It was developed jointly between Fujifilm and Olympus to create the worlds smallest and very fast memory card, which Fuji dropped into their camera's to promote them.
The XD picture cards have had an update in recent months where they got even faster, and can be distinguished from the older models by their blue writing (there are 2 versions ... ...black with gold writing.
The card i bought (128mb) holds enough for small cameras (1-3mpx) but anything over that its a struggle to squeeze all your images onto it, i get on average 30-50 images before i have to dump my memory onto a hard drive (at 6mpx).
Price when it was released was around £50 (which unfortunately i paid) you can get 1GB versions now for around £29 (old version and standard new versions)
Dumping memory is all too easy with ...

Advantages: large memory, easy transfer Disadvantages: small size. price.
i quickly out grew the 16mb card i got with my camera, so invested in the 128mb xd card. good choice.
i have listed price as a dissadvantage, but it seems that the price has come down alot since i bought mine, so shop arround and find the best deal you can befor buying.

Advantages: Very easy to use, 275 pictures Disadvantages: so small it is easy to loose
I went on holiday a couple of week ago and so I decided to buy a new picture card for my camera as I had a 32MB picture card and I didn't think it would be enough.
I bought it on the internet and it cost me £26.00 which I think is a very good price considering how many pictures you get. With my old picture card I could only have 33 pictures (low resolution) and 10 pictures (high resolution) but with my new card I get 275 (low resolution) and 86 ... ...as I think the pictures look really good so I am well pleased that I can get 275 pictures. Before I couldn't make video as there wasn't enough space but now I can film for about 3m30s (I can't say much about the video making as I haven't use it at all). The card is just as easy to install and to use as the 32 MB one. When I came back from holiday I had about 150 pictures ready to transfer on my computer and it took now time at all to do it. I would ...

Advantages: Excellent picture quality, easy to use, great looks, 10x optical zoom Disadvantages: Night shot, insufficient flash.
. The Uniross rechargeable batteries that I bought with the charger ran long enough that I did not have to turn the LCD off to save power.
- Frankly, all this feedback is just about the AUTO setting that I've used. I may get better pictures if I used the different options for landscape, portrait, etc. And I haven't tried the manual settings yet. I'm sure the pictures can be much better than what you saw on my album.
To summarise,
- if you have a medium sized budget (£300 - £400)
- if you want a little extra zoom
- if you are looking for quality pictures
look no further. At prices ranging from £295 (web) to £349 (high street), it is certainly a good buy. You can take my word.
I also bought -
* 128MBxdpicturecard
* Fuji leather case for s5000
* Uniross fast charger with 4 rechargeable batteries
Provided accessories ...
Advantages: Truly unbelievable quality images Disadvantages: Lack of zoom facility
the image - it really was a great surprise due to the amount I paid for it! This software can display your images on a full screen slideshow, and can even create a CD (if you have a CD writer) so you can watch your images on a DVD player in the living room!!
Now, to the XDPictureCard. Don't sneeze, or you will lose it. It is absolutely tiny! The camera is supplied with a 16MBcard, which will carry about 25 highest quality images, or about 100 lower ones, and about 30-60 seconds movie length. However, do not fear! You can expand and upgrade! From many retailers and online stores, you can get an XDPicturecard, which is exclusive to Fuji and Olympus cameras, quite cheaply. You can buy 16MB, 32MB, 64MB, 128MB, 256MBcards. At last look, I saw a 128MBcard for £37, which can store about 200 top quality images or about 20 - 30 minutes of movie ...
