These are 256mb XD memory cards made by Fujifilm, are the latest of a new storage syatem for information.. The price is very competitive, and you can buy them at just £3.49 from various companies on the internet., Remember this is plus P&P of course. You can also buy them on the high street, but at a much higher price. They are often described as the "Postage stamp" size cards. The size is an inch by three quarters, or 19 x 24mm.

There is also the option of going for non branded merchandise, although I would not use anything but the original stuff in my camera. You are then safe in the knowledge that you will have the genuine item, and your warranty is valid.

There are two types of these cards, M and H type. They each have a different method of digitally encoding, but that need not concern us, as they are completely interchangable and compatable.

The transfer rate on these cards is 5mb per second. They came ready to use, you don't need to format them first like you have to do with the Tomtom.

The cards were jointly developed by Fujifilm and Olympus. They are coloured black, it is a shame they are not some colour like hi-vis yellow, because if you drop one of these outdoors, you may never find it. They do come in a protective case, which is easy enough to keep in the same case as your camera, my tip here is to make the case easy to spot, although the time you are most likely to lose one, is when you are actually changing it.
You will probably want to keep several of these with you, instead of just the one, that way when the card is full, you simply change cards and start snapping away again or hours.
To change cards is very simple, and you don't even need to remove your batties. Just push the old card down, and it will pop up, remove, and insert the new one.

I have no complaints with these cards, in my opinion these are one of the better makes. Most cameras come with a small 16mb card just to start you off, but you will soon want to upgrade to a couple of bigger ones I feel sure.

You can either download your images to your comp, or take the card into the local Max Spielman* and get them printed while you wait. You can of course send the cards through the post, to someone without a PC so they can choose which pics they want.

The company does have a website with some nice graphics, and also some useful information.:-
www.fujifilm.co.uk

A lot of wiewers have been saying how cheap these are now, Have a look on various sutes for a bargain.

* There is a review on Max Spielman by another Ciaoer.

Happy snapping.
