Advantages: dont know never had chance to use properly good returns help waranty Disadvantages: blew my board up normal memory with useless plastic cooler
...maybe if you bought and tested this memory in you own pc you would have a better experience than i did but in my own honest opinion i wouldnt buy . i highly reccomend corsairs memory just not the pro versions
p.s corsairs memory has a lifetime waranty why is that? because it doesnt fail except the pro in my opinion
pros prices are dropping rapidly and soon maybe wont be selling
had 3 sets of this memory and it let me down shuting my system of without warning and fried my mother board an expert told me that the pro versions of the memory had lower mhz than normal but was factory overclocked to 800 mhz hence hig heat and unstableness
recomended normal xms 2 corsairc6400 memory which i got now runs cooler and quicker due to lower timings
pro overpriced for a big plastic heat spreader and flasing lights which use up more...

Advantages: Maximum power, minimal rack space Disadvantages: No external SCSI connector
...I recently purchased several of these boxes and they continue to impress. Being only 1U in size, they're ideal when you need lots of servers and space is at a premium.
It's good to get a 1U server that still has hot plug drives. I'm not so keen on the lower spec'd DLs that have the fixed drives, or even the ATA drives. The only thing that is a slight nusience is that there is no external scsi connector. If you're looking for a small server to drive, say for instance backups on a tape library, then you're going to need to fit another scsi card, or just buy a DL380 instead.
They have also done a good job with the power cables. Angled cables to help with cabling multiple 1U server together.
The only other thing that can be annoying is the rails that come with the server. They're a bit fiddly compared to a DL380, and they don...

Advantages: Slimline, only takes a few U's in the Rack. very reliable. Disadvantages: The new HP Smartstart is not as easy to understand as the original version.
...For those of you who aren't aware HP have taken over Compaq and rebadged compaq Servers with the HP badge.
This is just an upgrade to the Compaq Proliant DL380 G2.
You are still getting one of the most reliable servers in the industry for the right price.
They have also rectified the problem on the last model where there was only 4 bays for hard disks , there are now 6 bays, a FDD and a CD drive.
The server is a slimline model and for those of you who rack their servers, this is ideal as it only takes a few U in the rack.
I have built several of these without any real problems and all have been stable once built.
The only critisimn I can make is that Smartstart, a compaq utility to assist you in building these servers, has been rebadged, HP smartstart and given an overall and so far im not impressed, the screens don...
