I have now owned this laptop for 2 and a half years, and thougt a review might benefit anyone looking at second hand models. I initially bought this laptop for £1200 new which was a bargain considering the specs.
I have put this laptop through hell for the whole two and a half years ive had it and it is still going strong. I bought it to use as a desktop replacement while i was at university, and it has been on almost constantly day and night for most of this time. It runs games well, half life 2 has no trouble, but you can read the other review for this information.
I am using this as my main PC along side a linux pc, and am using it to run many bits of hardware. It runs a second monitor, external hard drive, printer, USB-mouse, speakers and the TV when we need to watch downloaded tv episodes.
The laptop used to get very hot when running games, but removing the heatsink and replacing the thermal paste sorted this out. My laptop came pre installed with 512mb of ram but i would recommend upgrading this.
downsides: the sd card reader never worked, it just corrupted and cards i put in there. The dvd drive slowly faded away, i can read dvd/cd fine but cant write to dvd anymore. Also after being on power for so long the battery only lasts for 40 mins.
Even today this laptop stands up well to modern applications and games, if you can find one at a good price then i would definitely recommend getting one if you are going to use it on power. If you want something portable i would look elsewhere.

(+) cool and quite robust trackpad, good display,64-bit windows 7 (-) few connectors, dell drivers only, not realy for gameing (most models), finger print prone!
Advantages: Very fast with the latest 64-bit technology and lots of features. Disadvantages: Graphics could be better for gaming, battery life could be improved.
