    I have returned to teaching after a long break. I saw my younger colleagues using laptops and doing Power Point presentations in everyday classroom teaching. Gone were the days of blackboard and chalk. I decided to join the band wagon and get a laptop! I searched the internet for days, weeks and running into months to find something which would meet my requirements. I visited local electrical stores. The more I looked, the more confused I got!     The laptop is freally ast and has a reasonable amount of memory. The only problem with it is that after a while, the screen becomes stiff and the connection loosens so the screen begins to turn itself off. I have had a number of problems with this laptop over the past 3 years. Though i have found it to be fast and easy to use.

    We bought this model since we were on a budget. My wife needed a laptop for her univeristy studies, I travel from time to time and needed to be able to work (Excel, Powerpoint) and see DVD´s etc. I knew Fujistu-Siemens to be relable computers, having a SCALEO destop at home. My main concerns were the small amount of RAM and the weight. We upgraded the RAM to 768 MB pretty quickly, because 256 MB is nowhere near enough. In the beginning things were OK.     I ordered this online and the first thing I noticed was the fan on the bottom. This means I need to place it on a notebook cooler and / or cutting board to stop my legs blocking the fan, overheating the laptop and making it switch off. Three years later and it's falling apart. The power connector pop out if I move the laptop and the hinge has broken so I can't easily close the lid. The metal rim that holds the screen broke and all the stress is put on the plastic chassis, which is now breaking apart. I will ... more

    I purchased this product believing Fuji to have a good reputation, but I was in for a rude awakening. At first, after opening the parcel and investigating the laptop, I was impressed with the large 60GB HD and 512RAM, and the large user-friendly keyboard. There is about 6" of space in front of the keys to rest your palms on and typing is a doddle. There are also 5 USB ports, and a combined CD/DVD RW. I was disappointed with the bare minimum of software though, and there is no user-manual.
