I bought this laptop from Comet last year. Since then i have had nothing but problems with it. Firstly, the fan made a horrible noise, this has come and gone randomly, it sounds like it was rubbing on something in the case. Then the laptop developed a rattling noise about 6 weeks after me having it. It would also power down randomly which was very frustrating. I took it back to Comet, with my receipt. I was informed by their useless staff that i would not be entitled to a refund as 28 days had passed! They said that i had no choice but to return it to the manufacturer and that it could take over a month. I said that this was unacceptable as the laptop was only a few weeks old and that i needed it for work. I would loved to have smashed it over the smug managers head, believe me. However, i arranged for it to be collected by fujitsu siemens. I heard the rattling again and decided to take a quick look myself by taking the upgrade slot off. To my horror i saw that a screw was loose inside the case, it hadn't been put on properly at the factory. This would have been rattling around and shorting stuff out, causing all sorts of mayhem. I found where it went and fixed the laptop myself. I then had about 6 months of trouble free computing. Well almost trouble free. The laptop does have a tendency to overheat, and it shut itself down a few times while i was gaming. The other day i was playing civ 4 for about 4 hours, and the laptop got rather warm. After my game the power lead had melted a bit and it was a struggle to get it out of the laptop. I managed to get it out with a pull, but it broke the ac adaptor port. Now i have a laptop that i can't charge. I would seriously recommend that you don't go anywhere near fujitsu siemens, they are a pile of crap. Go for a more reputable brand, and make sure your laptop has adequete cooling and build quality for the job. Also i would recommend staying away from Comet. They are quick to sell you something, then they wash their hands of the item. Trust me, they don't wanna know when something goes wrong. And as for fujitsu customer care, forget it. One tech support guy hung up on me because i refused to get the setup disk for the third time. I said to him that windows won't be causing my laptop to rattle! What a dumbass.

**I forgot to mention that the sound and picture quality is awful if you try to connect this laptop to any external device. I plugged the headphone output into an amp and got a hissy output. Also there was interference from the dvd drive and hard drive coming out throught the speakers. I also connected the vga output to my sony bravia(10/10 highly recommended piece of kit!), and could only set the resolution as high as 1024*768 without problems. But this is a 4:3 display, i wanted to watch high definition wmv clips to try my new tv out. When i set the laptop to 1280*720(hdtv 720p standard) it resulted in a 'flickering' sort of interference pattern. I know the problem was with the laptop as i also tried connecting my desktop pc up to the hdtv with no problems.**
