This laptop is vista ready which is the latest software our at the moment. While you may thing this is a good thing it can be a bad thing too as some of the programs you have baught and are looking to install may not be compatible with is you may be forced to buy new software which could be costly. So i highly recomend sticking with Windows XP which is preinstalled on this laptop.
This laptop is equipt with 1gb ram which is more than enough and will stop pc slowing down and freezing up. Which can later be upgraded to 2gb but you will have to spend money out of your pocket.
Now the graphics card may not be one of the best but if you are not planning to play the latest games then this shouldnt be a problem. Drivers for this laptop can be downloaded via ATI(AMD) site or fijitsu siemens as standalone drivers may not be compatible with it.
Finally it has got 80gb hard drive space which os great for a laptop if u wish to have more you could purchase some more or buy an external hard drive.
I could go on but i tink ive said enough overal i think this is a great laptop to purchase i highly recomended it.
Advantages: Still works like a sunshine after 8 hours ( or more ) of heavy use. Disadvantages: after 18 months the battery can only supply me with 27 minutes of power.
Well, I bought this laptop in August 2006 for school. I noticed that except for the company delivery system there was not really anything wrong with this laptop. Yes, some people experience trouble with this laptop, but that is usually because they asume something.
This laptop is amazing, as long as you donīt asume anything, the driver system is not exactly logical, but that can be easily solved by researching a little bit. I had problems with the ... ...it got fixxed really quickly, so for the service, or the people they choose to give service in theire place, they deserve a 10/10.
The speed is amazing, even after enslaving it with a memory draining game, and after that booting a 3d graphics program, it still works like a sunshine. However, I decided to use XP on this laptop, which is truely advicable, Vista makes this laptop very unstable. ...

Overall, I would recommend the Pi 1536 to anyone looking for a new laptop which doesn't cost the earth. It will happily devour multimedia/image-editing software, and even plays recent games (Half-Life 2: Episode 1 is very smooth even in native resolution of 1280x800). My model has an ATI X1400 graphics card which does the job nicely for the price.
As with most laptops these days, the screen is excellent. The wide aspect ratio is a must in my opinion, ... ...my desktop. I found the keyboard was very good, even though I am used to a full-size keyboard. There is also a decent DVD-writer, and a multimedia card reader built-in. As far as I'm concerned, it does everything I want to do better than my overclocked P4 3.2GHz desktop PC.
The 1GB of RAM is more than adequate, and the 80GB hard drive I got is probably enough for most people. I bought an Icy Box, though, so I could use my old internal hard drives ...

...absolutly useless, one of the fujitsu disks was missing and I had to contact them so they could send it out to me, took best part of a month...put me off a little. I terms of a price, anything under 775 and you have grabbed yourself a bargain. The instructions and literiture that i got with the laptop was simple and easy to follow, there was a great section on tutorials that I was looking at not so long ago, great for the novice user, to get them ...

...of mine brought me this Fujitsu masterpiece as he the whole thing cleaned and Wndows XP SP2 installed on it. I had to try very hard to do it. At first a very classical problem the Sata HDD would not be located. I had to modify the Windows installation CD with nLite to make this work. Then it just would not recognize the sound card and graphics card no matter how hard I tried. I thought downloading the newest drivers should do perfectly, but God knows ... ...any other notebook from Fujitsu until the end of my life. The guys at Fujitsu are either totally stupid or they do not give a damn and do not want to waste their time with Windows XP or 2000 users. I will not recommend this notebook to anyone I like. ...
