Fujitsu Siemens AMILO Xi 2528
This is the Fujitsu Siemens AMILO Xi 2528. It is a laptop designed for entertainment purposes whilst still being very cheap in price. Fujitsu Siemens are well known for their cheap laptops, and are also quite well known for making basic laptops and therefore don?t really have the best reputation in the market. However that is all changing now, instead of sticking to the mold of cheap basic laptops, there branching out and are starting to make ultra portable laptops that compete with sonys, and dells whilst being a lot cheaper too. They are now also making entertainment laptops with great specifications and features that come in at just a fraction of the price of some of its competitors and the AMILO Xi 2528 is one of these.
The installed ram on this laptop is great, it has a massive 3gb which is the main reason this laptop runs so fast, also its Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 which is a pretty good processor makes this laptop run so fast. Another thing to note is that this processor runs at speeds of 2.1 Ghz which is pretty good however I have seen faster, but the 3gb of ram does compensate for this and its very easy to have a lot of programs open at one time without it slowing.
This laptop just doesn't stop disappointing us, and an example of this is its great screen. Its TFT screen, measures 17 inches, this is great for watching movies on, watching video clips on and makes gaming so much better too. This screen is also active matrix, this is being used by so much more laptop manufacturers nowadays as it makes the screen lighter, therefore making the laptop lighter, is makes the image quality so much better than a normal TFT screen and it also makes the response time a lot better, which makes videos look sharper, photos look sharper and game playing look better than ever before.
Another feature built into this screen is the fantastic X-black technology, this gives you better contrast, better quality, but the best thing of all, this gives you wider viewing angles. In the past, watching movies on laptops has been for only one person and two people positioned very closely to each other. Even then you would have to set your laptop up just right pointing at exactly where your sat to get a good picture and if you moved your body in the slightest your view would be spoilt and the screen would look black and faces look weird colours too. However, with X-black technology, you can just watch your laptop from pretty much any angle, your whole family could be crowded round watching something on your laptop and they would all have the same view, the best view, so this X-black technology is great when looking for a laptop.
Its hard drive is also very nice, it has 250gb of storage space, which is your going to be storing a lot of music, movies, photos and games on, then well, your going to need it.
Obviously with that large screen, one thing that this isn?t going to do well is portability. It still can hold a pretty impressive 2 hours of use though, which means using it unplugged about the house will be easy to do. However it is quite heavy. It weighs 4 kg and I can only imagine how hard it would be carrying this about everywhere.
Extra features includes its built in card reader, which is always handy to have and its built in webcam too. This is only 1.3 Mega pixels and to be honest is rubbish quality at the best, however its still there and is useful if you only need a basic camera.
This laptop is great for any entertainment uses, it isn?t the best looking laptop however its very fast and has a great spec. It is also very cheap, if this was a dell, or a song then we would be talking about £1400 for this, however you can get one of these for around just £650, and they should get cheaper after they have been on the market for a while, it really is a good buy.

Great computer, very happy with it. The screen is just a bit hard to work with. It keeps on making a cracking sound and moves difficultly when ever you touch it. Worst is you cant oil it or anything because all of the hinges and whatever are sealed in for protection.
The brilliant view screen is pretty awesome, it just reflects a lot and is impossible to work on with a window behind you. It also attracts a lot of dust.
The battery life is also ... ...a desktop pc after a while so it not the end of the world. I would not recommend it to anyone needing mobility and long battery hours.
It's a brilliant machine otherwise. Windows Vista hides its potential a bit. My advice - for windows lovers, downgrade to XP. For linux lovers, go mad :)
If you do plan on keeping Vista, at least upgrade it with another 2 gb RAM! ...

this laptop also has a massive 2gb of ram, which makes it runs super fast. and it even has 250gb of hard drive space which is enough for all those movies, mp3s, and whatever else you could think of.
the 15.4-inch widescreen LCD display with BrilliantView technology for impressive color, focus and contrast makes imadges look ultra sharpe and moview too.
