The Fujitsu Siemens Amilo SA 3650 laptop consists of an Intel core 2 duo T5800 2.0Hz Processor, making it very fast indeed. This is brilliant as my old laptop runs at a snail's pace compared to this, I am gob smacked I put up with it for so long.

INTRODUCTION

Having recently gone part time at the salon, I have had plenty of spear time to kill at first I didn't really know what to do with myself so I spent it with my laptop fused to my knee, hence the amount of time I have been spending on dooyoo.

Anyway over the last few weeks my old laptop started to play up, as the space bar would not work when it was being pressed. I did look into replacing the keypad but this was only a momentary thing as I really wanted a new one.

Last Sunday me and my husband went for a walk around our local retail park and we took a stroll into comet, not that we were actually looking to buy anything but I came across this Fujitsu Siemens Amilo laptop notebook.

Having played with the display model I had my heart set on it, so I bit the bullet and bought it right there and then.

I really bought this because I liked the look of it, I am not really up on technology so I would have bought it on looks alone, but my husband has to research everything and he assured me that it was a very good model so that was enough for me. Well it had to be good as he would not have allowed me to spend so much on something that was not that good.

This laptop has many features that ease the blow of spending £874.99 some of which I will use to the maximum and some of which will not be used at all.

I personally fell for this laptop as it has a slim line design and looks very stylish with its black high gloss outer casing and it 18.4 inch HD LCD flat screen, I loved the design as it enables me to cart it to and from work very easily without braking my back in the process.

It has 4096MB Memory and a massive 320GB hard drive, this is something that it will use to the excess and I am sure I will have it filled within a few months, especially now that I can use it at work and keep all of my records on a computer.

This screen is a whopping 18.4 inch LCD flat screen that is HD ready, so it looks really impressive and this is what attracted me to it in the first place. I can now watch DVD's on my laptop, which is something I have never done and I don't think I will do a lot of but at least I have the option if I wanted to watch something. When using my laptop colours now appear more vibrant and everything looks a lot shaper and clearer, making reading of watching the screen much easier.

It has a blue ray / DVD plus and minus writer, which is apparently to best one to have but this means nothing to me as I can't even burn stuff to disc, but my husband seems to have taken to this and it trying to teach me how to use it, so watch this space. My husband informs me that I can watch and burn DVD's very easily with this super multi DVD drive.

If you are into gaming the NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT Graphics card that is contained in the laptop will exceed all of your gaming needs, My old laptop could play certain games bit if I wanted to play anything to advanced it would freeze up, so actually playing any game I want is great.

The note book has Integrated LAN and WLAN so I can now get a very fast internet connection, at any network that allows me access such as the network at home of at work. What I found really appealing is the fact that I went to the pub for lunch last week and they had Wifi, I tried to connect out of interest and I connected almost instantly, so this is a great little feature in my book.

This note book came with Microsoft vista operating system which is what I was running on my old laptop so getting used to this was no problem, but for anyone who is used to XP professional or a similar software then this can take you a while to master.

DIMENSIONS

As I have stated this is a very slim design as it is only 40 centimeters wide, 29.4 centimeters across and 4.7 centimeters high, It is also very light and only weighs 3.8 kilos so transporting it is a breeze.

THE PRICE / AVAILABILITY

I bought this from comet for £874.99, this came with a one year manufacturers warranty. When I purchased this the salesman at comet tried to sell me extra insurance, which I turned down as it is now covered on my houses contents insurance.

I was also offered Microsoft office software for only £74.99 which could be installed on the notebook.

MY OPINION

The slim line design is great as my old laptop was very bulky and heavy so I was reluctant to take it out of the house as it would have been more trouble than it was worth, so I feel this new one is much better as I can carry it around very easily.

I feel that £874.99 is a little bit expensive as I will never use it to its full potential, but I am sure that for any computer expert who can appreciate its features to the full extent will think it is reasonable.

I am very happy with my new laptop, as this is something I have never owned from new as I have always had my husband's hand me downs when he has upgraded. So it is really nice to have a new one and I am going to really look after it.

I love that I can now play games and watch things on BBC I player as this was something I have never been able to do in the past.

I have to admit this as a little bit too advanced for me and I am sure I could have got a much cheaper model to do the jobs I need a laptop to do, but I really liked the design and I am actually making the effort to learn how to use everything this has to offer.
