...What can I say about this laptop that has not been said about Iraq. 3 Days ago a friend of mine brought me this Fujitsu masterpiece as he the whole thing cleaned and Wndows XP SP2 installed on it. I had to try very hard to do it. At first a very classical problem the Sata HDD would not be located. I had to modify the Windows installation CD with nLite to make this work. Then it just would not recognize the sound card and graphics card no matter how hard I tried. I thought downloading the newest drivers should do perfectly, but God knows how wrong I was. This notebook is like the worst nightmare if you are looking to change or reinstall the operating system. It is the compilation of everything that I hate. Every component, every detail on it. This notebook contains the X1400 Mobility graphics card so you might as well think that if you...

...card details and agreement to pay the basic £94 + VAT standard charge.
After 2 days of phoning back and forth between their helpdesk and their repair centre (2 different companies who do not communicate with one another), I took my laptop to an indpendent expert who agreed that there was no damage and that it was a warranty fault.
I have given my card details to Fujitsu in order that they will collect my laptop, but if they try to charge me anything at all, I will dispute the charge through my credit card. I'll let you know how I get on.
In the meantime, the expert that I consulted told me that Fujitsu have previously only supplied to businesses, and it is only in the last 3 months that they have developed a range of "cheap" (I don't think so) laptops for the domestic market.
The general consensus of these domestic laptops among...

Advantages: Quick laptop and not bulky for a 15.4" laptop 2Ghz Disadvantages: battery life rated at 3 hours. Graphics not for high end use
...An excellent laptop, a good balance between memory and CPU speed for most users. Graphics adequate for most things, though not for high end games. 3.4 Vista Index due to graphics, however, all over ratings are around 4.5 -5.5.
Highly recommended for general and business use. I use mine for web development and have had no problems at all. I often have many CPU intensive applications open at once and the performance has never waivered. I've just switched from a desktop and am still getting used to the keyboard, however, its a standard laptop one so no problems there. The USB ports are on the side which I find useful. Display screen is excellent and doesn't suffer from glare.
At the time of writing this was the best laptop for the money for general use on the market....
