Fujitsu Siemens ESPRIMO Mobile V5515

This laptop has been selling pretty cheaply at Ebuyer recently. I'd like to say a few things that I feel are important to know about this laptop before buying it. Firstly, the spec is more than up to running 95% of programs in common use today. The dual core processor means that you get 2 processors for the price of one, effectively. The one problem that it has, which many cheaper laptops share, is that it comes with limited memory. Had this machine for around a month now, and found the machine to be a great starter machine, or "one for the kids". Whilst it can't be considered a games machine, it is great for surfing websites, playing games on websites and doing email. Have found that the pre-installed Windows Vista Home Basic to be exactly that - 'basic'. This machine with its DVD writer and Atheros based Wireless miniPCI card make it an excellent machine to get to grips. I bought this laptop one month ago as I needed one for university. I have chosen this one as it was the cheapest decent laptop. I bought for something around 280pounds from an on-line shop in Romania. In the package there was the laptop, AC adapter, network cable, a CD with drivers and one with Linux Knoppix. The first impression was that I bought it at a fair price. The plastic looks cheap but the keyboard is fine. Owned it for five days now but it took three days to fully suss it out - I am not an experienced laptop owner. The machine is very compact and excellent value for money. It does however have the most diabolically inadequate instructions I've ever come accross. Battery life is closer to 1hr 15mins than the 1.33 quoted. No warning when it is about to go blank, but it does leave the settings correct for when you plug it in to the mains.
