Advantages: Confusing call qualification / Information repeated several times
Disadvantages: Once the call had been logged and agreed the repair was turned around very quickly

...After recently having a problem with A Fujitsu laptop which was still in warranty I recently contacted Fujistu to arrange to have the machine looked at. The problem with the machine appeared to be that the cable connecting the screen had fractured and needed replacing. After navigating the Support call system and speaking to several people regarding this fault we appeared to travel full circle and go back to the beginning explaining the fault and symptoms. Fujitsu seem to have a good support infrastructure and policy in place which just needs some fine tuning. They need to ensure that all information is relayed as required, and to appreciate that the users placing the call have different levels of experience. Advantages: You get to really struggle with the Mic settings.
Disadvantages: Trying to get the Mic. to work reallt takes up all your free time

...I am connected to Skype but cannot get the Microphone to work properly on my Fujitsu E8020D which is 2 weeks old as at 12 August 2006. The driver detects the Microphone being plugged in but the Mic does not work properly. If anyone knows how to solve this problem, please contact me at hfester@vodamail.co.za What bothers me most is that when I contacted the company whom I bought this laptop from ( Annex in Midrand South Africa), they told me they do not offer support. So much for offering 3 YEARS warranty and they cannot even offer me support 2 weeks later. DISGUSTING. Advantages: Cheap, good speakers and ATI graphics chipset, Runs cool
Disadvantages: Only runs cool because of HUGE fans so noisy, Graphics are actually awful, Bad keyboard

...Most people looking for a laptop will have an idea that the speed of a machine in MHz or GHz will have a direct impact on performance. True, but if you take this to the extreme like a lot of people and base your buying choice on ourely speed, you may fall into the V7010s trap. The Celeron D CPU in this laptop runs at a smooth 2.53GHz, which will certainly appeal to a lot of people on paper. But be in for a surprise when you power the machine on for the first time.... To me the Fujitsu felt slower than my Compaq Armada M700 running at 1GHz with only 128MB of RAM, although both of them ran XP Home Edition. The speed is only the first shortcoming of the V7010, as you will find out shortly.
